How are these pads? I have 2009 and 2011 and there is noticeable weight difference between them.

They are nice n light, but these stick out further than my other pads due to the padding. The blue is bright and is sometimes off putting. Not sure what they weigh. I also feel i look like a storm trooper when im wearing them. Not really a softs man other than gloves. The only other protection i use is a box.
-
I have same problem with 2009 ones but in 2011 I have noticed that is not a problem.
-
kook ice sub zero pads and kook ice 850 gloves. these are in a different league to the other softs I have used - although I'm not really a kit whore and haven't used that many different types. I was using county kit for about 10 years before I got the kook stuff.
-
ayrtek gloves defo i love them!
batting pads are just pads to me dont really have a feel for them.
keeping pads fxt 5000's best ive had lovely
-
Best Gloves by an absolute mile my H4L Ltd editions are just superb the pitards Leather is quality and the gloves are so light for the amount of protection they have !!
Best pads were a GM 606 pair I had about 4 years ago that got stolen from a changing room at an away game.
-
2004 Kookaburra Absolute Belta pads and 2011 D&P UPP Pads
-
Bradbury players pad's they were gorgeous!
-
Kookaburra Pads and Puma Gloves.
-
Kookaburra Diablo gloves (though I'm pretty sure the Ice and Rogue which have succeeded them are pretty much the same glove)
Fusion Sports Pads (made by Robinsons I believe)
-
CJI ultimate special editions.
Very comfortable, very good value. You should check them out
Morrants internationals. nuff said
-
Kookaburra kahuna 600 pads, gloves.
Aero p2 strippers.
Worst have to be my puma ballistic 4000 flextech keeping pads. Does anyone know of any decent osm keeping pads or is that a contradiction in terms? lol
-
cant wait to get my kook softs, hope they are the best i've used!

You won't be disappointed, they are unreal. Customer service is fantastic as well.
-
Good stuff, hope they fit, went for OSM which i don't normally
I'm getting mine off mike. I am currently 'softless' and have a game on saturday.... will they come?!!!
-
Puma Iridium 5000 gloves take a lot of beating but my SS Camo LE's run them a close second, for pads, my Puma Iridium 4000's are lovely and light and not too bling but having recently used a pair of the moulded GM pads (RSb's??) I think they might be my favourites but I guess you either like moulded pads or hate them!

-
Pads- m&h distinctions although my legends will give them a good run for their money when they stop bloody squeaking....
Gloves- ayrteks
-
Gloves - SS SuperTest
Pads - Morrant International Ultralite
-
Gloves - Xtrax Palm Lekka Gloves
Pads - Woodford Ultralites
-
Old pads: GN powerbow test 2005 model
Old gloves: Kook beast 2005/2006
New pads: Ayrtek elite
New gloves: Ayrtek elite
To try: BlueRoom and Salix
-
Gloves - Newbery SPS1 Camos 2010 (£35 from ebay at the end of last season. Really comfortable. Brilliant buy)
Pads - Hunts County Triumph 2010 pads. really comfortable to wear for a reasonable period of time (as done last night), reasonably light, but moulded rather than trditional shape. Can't fault them really! Like them a lot, and offer more than enough protection for the level I play (and more than enough for playing against considerably better players). £39 in the Sale at Barringtons.
-
Gloves: Surridge Duke
Pads: Surridge Platinum
-
Can't really fault the salix pod one gloves and pads, as I've had them for over 3 years and no problems but the M&H alpha series is immensely comfortable and incredibly light. Much better I think than the distinction series.
-
i think my new kook stuff is as good as any. Got the CCX stuff. Gloves have pittards and are very light. Pads are reasonably light and very comfortable. Plus it looks good too, i will add some pics when i can get hold of the camera

So change is it, best pads are easily Gray Nicolls Legends and gloves are Salix Pod Black after using both they beat Puma Iridium 5000 too!
-
Gloves: Newbery SPS 1 white, lovely and soft with great styling.
Pads: Gunn & Moore Catalyst 707 pads i had a few years ago ridic light and just amazing
-
Aero P2 Pads
Aero P1 Gloves
They are well light
-
Pads: Newbery SPS
Gloves: Undecided.
-
Pads: Sommers XX, liked the fit and the flat front style. Very light too.
Gloves: Sommers XXX, or Pod 1s that are very similar in fit though the Salix have pittards.
-
Pads: Kookaburra, any of the top end models, currently have the Kahuna 1000
Gloves: Puma, still haven't used my kookaburras extensively to challenge the pumas
-
So far for me it is......
Pads: Morrant Ultralite Internationals
Gloves: Lekka Powerbow xtrax
-
Hawk X10 Pro Pads + Gloves - fitted superbly straight from the off. Great protection and comfortable.
However I really like the feel of my new GM LE Gloves, however yet to really use them - so can't really comment on them.
-
Pads: Puma Stealth 5000 (made for Saj Mahmood)
Gloves: Kookaburra Ice 850
-
Pads: Use solitaire ones which I am happy with
Gloves: Ayrtek elites are excellent, also SS camo LE gloves are very good
-
Best Pads I've used are Hosk's Morrant Ultralite's (anyone got some used ones they want to sell??? :D)
Best gloves are definitely the BAS gloves I bought used on here. Really lovely and supple and seemingly indestructible...definitely worth a look!
-

Agree with you on the gloves.
Best pads I've used it's really hard to call between Chase 175's off procricket originally or some Vulcan pads I use atm which are very nice!
Probably the Vulcan's by a shade.
Gloves: SS LE Blue Camo (a la Sangakarra/Paranavitana...) :)
-
Deffo Salix for me, so comfy and also look good :p
Pads - Pod pro
Gloves - pod red
Had some kook ones and they fell apart after half a season! I'd never buy kooks softs again.
-
newbery sps gloves
gn legend pads
awesome padding and really comfortable
-
I'm currently rocking a cheeky set of Ayrtek Elite pads and gloves. They're very, very comfy, particularly the gloves (which I'm very fussy about).
Tomtek also said they would make me look like a proper batsman!
-
of course Fattus....once your hand slides into the velvety softness of the Elite gloves its like Clark Kent taking off his glasses as you turn into SuperBATman...a combination of 2 superheros encased within the body of comicbook guy from the simpsons...

Or indeed, in the image of my hero - 'BIG COLIN'
Big Colin 'bloomin well gettin on with it'
-
The kook Ice 850s ive had for a couple of seasons have to be some of the best ive used, not that expensive either. :)
-
I think ul find simmy a very apt role model mate!
-
haha (No Swearing Please)!
-
not far off u big lad!
-
kook ice sub zero pads and kook ice 850 gloves. these are in a different league to the other softs I have used - although I'm not really a kit whore and haven't used that many different types. I was using county kit for about 10 years before I got the kook stuff.
Might have become a bit more of a kit whore but those ice softs were good!
-
Still got my set which I use for nets. Ice gloves are the best I've had...
-
Not used my new morrants yet ...they may become a favourite, but best pads I have ever had was back in 1993 . Easton Air Management pads . They freakin rocked . Sooo cushy . Sooo light . I really miss them .
-
Mongoose super premium batting gloves 2014 version, they are outstanding I still have them the durability is outstanding, even better than my current merlin gloves from newbery, pads wise the best pads I've had are the top of the range Bradbury 2011 models or funky elite 2013/2014 version wrap around my legs well and are a perfect size
-
B&S I like pads and all white gloves are my favourite even better than Salix which I always rated as the best softs on the market year in year out
I have just started using some GN oblivion test pads from SD and may be just for me but the sizing is perfect for me and so comfy along with my favourite gloves at the moment away from B&S the Presitge gloves maybe making an appearance toward the back end of the season in some end of season friendlies
-
My h4l custom gloves but as the first top end pair I've used they will be.... And pads will be my newbery tt although the he slaz elites I had before those were pretty darn good!
-
B&S LE pads are absolutely fantastic.
Puma Karbon gloves are my favourite though affinity come very close.
-
I really wanted the B&S pads from this year (not the pollock range) but I don't think he has any left.
Gutted
-
Im thinking about getting a set of the morrants but never seen them in the flesh but heard good things
-
Im thinking about getting a set of the morrants but never seen them in the flesh but heard good things
How you getting on this season mate?
-
personally ok ish but new role as oldest and snr player but team wise we are 80 points clear with 7 games to go
You?
-
Pads - Kookaburra Ricky Ponting's from 2009, so comfortable, light and wrapped around the leg perfect for me.Also sat low on the foot which is what I need. B3 come close but not quite there.
Gloves - B3 sausage fingers, perfect flexibility and for somebody who has really sweaty hands i never seem to have to worry about soggy palms ( probably because im not at the crease long enough)
-
Gloves - ss limited editions. I've had them for a season and a half now and they have gone through some very long and sweaty innings. Barely any wear on them whereas a big brand have started to wear after 4 net sessions.
Pads- GM orginial lites from a few years ago. They were so light and comfortable I was amazed by them. They were small mens and actually fitted me. GMs weren't always designed for giants it seems.
-
SS gloves, best I've used
Saving up for some custom h4l, for next season
-
Have used all sorts in the past but really can't complain at all about the SS Test Opener Pads and SS Sangakarra LE gloves I picked up 2nd hand and have used all this season.
-
At the moment I'm very happy with my softs
Kookaburra impulse 950 gloves
Optimax black edition pads really comfy and no massive straps either
-
Ayrtek pads and gloves - youth size - still provide top notch protection, just in a better fitting and much lighter package. Honourable mention to Salix gloves as well (the black palmed ones).
