Looking very slick. Any idea how those weights compare to Albion / Masuri and what each will retail at?

Do they all come with the logo on the front?

Looks very good. Great to see Ayrtek going from strength to strength

Yeah we know what the others all clock in at weight wise and were def the lightest with the Elite and RAW....prices start at £79.99 and go upto £229.99 :)

Logos can be provided on the front but they were just for visual effect to show where a club crest would go etc.

Just wondering how the premier model compares to rivals weight wise...I shall stop being lazy though and dig out some scales to weigh my bog standard Albion

773g for Albion club mk 2 with steel grill...don't think I would notice an extra 40g but what sort of price jump are we looking at between Premier and pro?

Premier is £79.99...has the same liner across the whole of the range so it's just the shell materials that are different as you progress up the range

I really want a raw as it looks so damn cool, but I can't justify the price tag and my premier is the lightest helmet I've ever worn...

What sort of speeds/level of cricket are the three different models designed to withstand an impact from?
Are they being supplied to any stores around the bristol/north somerset area so I can see how they fit etc.. ?

So, is the premier safer tham a masuri? I'm guessing yes, made out of the same materials?

How much lighter is the Ti grill over a steel, just wondering as if I got a premier off of you then I would swap my dads ayrtek Ti grill for my masuri one

Would premier with Ti be lighter than a masuri Ti

The Pro is still in the early phases I think

Ah I see, that makes sense then. Was just interested as if I am going to spend the extra money it would be nice to get something lighter than my current one as well as being safer, more comfortable etc. Still a long time til next season so I guess I can wait around to see what happens with this and then finally make the 5minute trip up the road to Ayrtek HQ which I have long threatened!

Gents

The pictures only do a certain amount of justice.

First hand, I can tell you that the service from Tom is first class.
I am confident that Masuri/Albion are not as readily available to discuss your options in the manner that Tom is.

End of season refurbs are available to get rid of those scuffs and scratches; we all know what happens once the outer material begins to tear/fray/degrade etc. (On other brands)

The ability to personalise is a major attraction for us Club players, this isn't a purchase that will get chucked in the bag with no due care and attention. You can put as much thought into your lid as you can your willow and make it something that you can respect and appreciate for seasons and seasons.

Add up what those benefits mean to you as a cricketer, add the safety factor, the innovation factor and the fact that Tom is UK based and fast emerging in a market that has been dominated for years.....

Worth every penny.

Ha ha, I know I know, it's almost too close!

And DK I can definitely see the advantages I just need to justify the outlay now that I have a similar issue to Tom...saving for a wedding!!

Premier is safer than a Masuri due to shape. The Masuri peak deforms if hit straight on. The shell on the Premier that I have originally had a steel grill, and this combination felt lighter than the masuri I had before it.

Ha excellent tactics! I have been authorised to buy another bat following the proposal though  ;)
Fortunately she wants a winter wedding so no worries about decimating my club for a weekend!

Top stuff Tom, really considering getting one of these. Are you gonna be in any retailers down south? Really want to try one on with my meatball head before buying one

We are in talks with several retailer already...and even more after yesterday!!!

We are looking to have the shops supplied with them for the end of October for the pre-Xmas sales period, once we have clarified all the retailers that will stock them we will formulate a list/map so everyone can locate their nearest stockist :)

tom, I meant to ask yesterday, will your new bottom of the range lid still be lighter than a masuri lid?
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on September 20, 2011, 07:34:54 AM
Marginally heavier with a steel grille, I have the masuri steel we have in the office in at 793g vs the Premier Steel @ 814g although we are looking to reduce this figure as this weight was the first samples we had off the tool.

Thanks Tom - I think it is some statement to say even your cheapest model is lighter than the main competition - which I am sure the final version will be.

thanks for showing this.
I do like a graph!!
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: tim2000s on September 20, 2011, 09:19:04 AM
That's an interesting graph, as the guys who have picked up my (admittedly older) Premier Ti have all commented on how light it is, and they have a variety of Masuri, Albion and GM lids.

Is the old Premier, the same construction as the new one?
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range

How much weight would a Ti grill save against a steel?
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: Buzz on September 20, 2011, 09:23:49 AM
it is a shame you didn't use that graph in the presentation yesterday, although I realise there was a huge effort not to mention rival manufacturers.
Liam - The difference in Masuri Ti and steel grille's looks to be about 160+grams so we can assume the ayrtek ti is in that region.
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: Liam-SCCC on September 20, 2011, 09:30:45 AM
So the premier with the Titanium grill could be around the weight of the pro then
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on September 20, 2011, 09:32:55 AM
Tim...the "Premier" you have is of fibreglass construction whilst the new one is made from an entirely different process and therefore materials. Your one will be lighter than the new premier model due to this.

We realise we cant produce a product that is as light as the Elite/RAW shells in plastics which is what the premier and pro will be made from (all be it a lot more advanced materials than the bog standard "washing up bowl" materials that other choose to use).
Title: Re: Our 2011/2012 Range
Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on September 20, 2011, 09:48:35 AM
Incidentally the RAW Leicester lid that was doing the rounds yesterday weighs in at 591g ;)

As the Elite and RAW shells are hand made there will be some natural variation in the finished weight for which we allow a tolerance of +/- 15g

I have started my Ayrtek fund! Will hopefully have enough by the new year!

Just weighed various grills and helmets, I reckon the Prmeier with Ti grill would come in lighter than masuri steel
