I seem to have been charged by pro-direct for something I don't believe I ordered. It may be something I cancelled, but in the meantime, if you have an account, be aware...

Charged me for a GM 909 Icon I cancelled months ago, likely be less hassle to sell it on here/eBay than try and return it.

But I thought they liked you, Tim?! Sorry to hear about this. The mind boggles by how shocking this firm is. In my humble opinion, they are an embarrassment to our industry and make a mockery of the trade!

The way there website looks, how pictures etc are they seem extremely professional but very few guys know there dark side!
-
they are a complete joke.
I told the man on the phone when i had my latest run in with them on the pads.
Last night i went to place another order ..... pads and gloves but decided against it.
I'll wait until i see another firm doing a discount and pay a little extra.

John, out of interest, what did the man on the end of the phone say? Was he apologetic at least?

Are they that bad? I want the Adidas adipure pads off there as the are on offer a lot cheaper than anywhere else but reading bad reviews has started to put me off!

If they have them in stock you'll be fine, just abit of a lottery

the poor lad couldnt say much, i even told him that i could point him to several threads on the interent which talk about how rubbish the company is and to his credit he took down the link i gave him (or least pretended to). He was getting a little flustered so i let it go and he said he would find out why it happened and would email me. I told him that i would be dead before i received such an email and i put hte phone down ....... for those of you wondering .... im still waiting for the email!
I wonder if there is any trade body you can report them to for consistently not honouring transactions or sending out wrong orders ....

I think buyers should be made aware of people's experiences so I think i may link these to their facebook page ... http://www.facebook.com/prodirectcricket

Well it went back today, and I'm pleased that it did. Certainly not the best looking 909 I've ever seen, and for a light bat to have a Pick-Up index of 3 and weigh something in the order of 2lb12-2lb15 is quite remarkable...

I had a bit of a saga recently!
I helped out a forum friend who was having issues with his card - so he sent me the dosh and I ordered him a special offer on Pro Direct.
As seems to be normal, this special offer wasn't so special as there were none in stock!! :( This was only confirmed once I had paid for it!
So a week or so of waiting and my friend decided that he would prefer to look around and actually chose a bat I had instead. So the bat from Pro Direct was now mine if it ever arrived! ???
I called them a couple of times and they assured me that they would try to get a time estimate and call me back.......no call back! >:(
So eventually after a couple more weeks I went online to my account and cancelled the order.
Checked it next day and order was cancelled! A week or two later, I was still waiting for the refund and out of the blue I got confirmation that the Icon 909 was dispatched! It arrived yesterday which is kind of annoying considering I cancelled the order >:(
So I will need to send that back as well - decent for £120 posted but I already have enough bats! ;)
-
Yes, when I had a go at them on the phone, they said, "It's not cancelled unless you get an email confirming cancellation". I asked how that was possible, given that when they had cancelled my orders, I had never received an email.... They couldn't answer.
I suspect there will soon be an offer on Icon 909 bats that will be in stock due to so many being returned...

Guys as people have mentioned here, the best way to describe them is a lottery!
Although I must say, I have been lucky so far with them.. Managed to get myself a Salix Pod Pro bag for £29.99, Some Puma Pads for £56 (worth 85) and a few bits and bobs.. All delivered in time..
I have although in the past seen their stock not being available but for a best resort I have avoided placing any orders.
-
I am not knocking the goods really - anything I have got from them has been decent enough.
It's more about the lack of follow through from their customer services people, and also when you cancel and order online through your Pro Direct account and it is in a status of Cancelled, you kind of expect it to be cancelled? ???
So it's more about the processes and service they deliever sometimes. ;)

I ended up with a GM 707 in similar circumstances (had actually ordered 707+) which was out of stock for weeks so i cancelled after 4-5 weeks and was told that when you cancel the order on the website it is not really cancelled as the website cancels do not, I was told in future to call them to cancel but somehow i feel even that would be a waste of time..In the end they refunded me half the money as first it was the wrong bat and secondly sending it back from Canada would have cost 50GBP which they were not willing to pay..

report them to trading standrads, they sent you the wrong product so must pay all costs for you to return it to them.
seller is a registered UK Business then they should reimburse under Distance Selling Regulations as it's their error.

This was over a month ago, when they offered the refund of half the money i accepted that and just sold the bat at cost to a friend but not fun experience..
