Season is coming closer so need to start thinking about the music for on tours and in the dressing rooms.
What songs/tunes get you pumped up before a game,
Get you relaxed after,
Get you through a hard fitness session?
-
Hmmm
Que sera sera as club song
But for me anything by drowning pool
-
Call me maybe. Epic tune
-
In the gym, you need some serious metal - I often run to Rammstein if I'm not using a playlist. Before the game, has to be the Rocky score - cheesy but perfect!
-
Before going out to bat, I stick fight club by Marilyn Manson on/ Fires me right up! Rammstein in the gym is a huge shout as well. Also a bit of Meta;;ica, Swedish House Mafia, Pendulum..... bit of an eclectic mix

Bodies is a great one for getting fast bowlers ready!
Otherwise, I always find the Al Pacino speech from Any Given Sunday is great to play when you've got a low total to defend/ must win game!

The Prodigy too are epic
-
we had LMFAO 2 years ago and call me maybe last year on a mix disc. also had £1 fish remix half way through just for the comedy factor. we dont tend to go for anything too battle/fight orientated. No Rocky theme etc
-

and the award for most credibility draining answer goes to...
-
the lonely island - Like a Boss
and any other song by them
-
Anything fast paced is good. Usually some form of rock or heavy metal for me, just to get the adrenaline going
-
Personally prefer nothing at all.... Quiet, contemplative, focus,
kill.

It was a joke, I don't even have it on my iTunes. Honest :D.

Ditto. tunes required for after the game though :)
I have zero control over those, however, and we are all grateful for small mercies

Acca Dacca

Hall of fame by the Script feat William gets me going any day . Ludovico Einaudi - Divenire is another piece I absolutely love .
-
A bit of a mixed bag for me. my music tastes are too varied.
Recently been listing to a bit of childish gambino before I bat.

The script always does it for me !
Personally i need six60 blasting down upbeat and gets me energized and focused.
My god some of these reactions got me giggling away. and most of them have already been on a previous playlist.
Come on boys where is the originality! haha

Lol why do we need originality? Its exactly the same as the other post, 'whats your favourite song to get you pumped up' is going to be pretty close to 'what music do you like' and 'who's your favourite band?'
-
Foals, Slipknot, QOTSA, Fleetwood Mac, The Whispers....
How's that for diverse and original!
-
Oh, I can give you a lot of diverse stuff that I listen to, just not at times closely related to physical exertion!
-

.... we got a smartass over here hahah xD fair point... got me there..
That's not really a dressing room song for us, turn up to the game with it blaring in the car so the oppo get a good 1st impression of us
I can just imagine you lot turning up in a smooth girly car with all hanging out of the windows haha sing it loud and proud hahah xD

Faithless - God is a DJ?
'This is my church
this is where I heal my hurt'
erm, or not... ;)
-
Along similar lines, a great line from a song - Jesse Malin's Almost Grown - "me & Johnny snuck into nightclubs, the politics of punk rock church..."
-

'This is my church

Can't quote Faithless without always coming back to the lyrical wizardry of:
Insomnia please release me and let me dream of
Makin' mad love to my girl on the heath
Tearin' off tights with my teeth
-
Can't beat a bit of The Vengaboys!
Gotta love turning up to the oppo's ground in a minibus full of guys singing 'the vengabus is coming'.

-
usually listen to Spiraling from Keane once before a game...
-
Love how many people on here like their heavy stuff! To be fair I put an absolutley random mix on but without a doubt the greatest tune of all time if your going to turn up at an opponents ground with the widows down and the music blasting is the ghostbusters theme!
-
andrea bocelli anyone?

I don't really listen to much music before I go into bat, but if I do, I tend to listen to classical piano stuff. Keeps me relaxed. :)

Cheers just spent 10 mins listening to old cartoon theme tunes
-
If we're going properly down that route, I'd have to put in a vote for Top Cat as one walks out to bat...
-
I play for Bristol YMCA....you do the math ;)

Not really compiled our dressing room tunes for 2013 yet.
We have (rather foolishly) decided to take this challenge on before every net session. Its much harder than it looks!
Bring Sally up Bring Sally Down Pushup Challenge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL-l4bZCkAw#)
No doubt Moby will not be a welcome addition to our dressing room playlist in the season!
-
All the best with that.... :(
-
A bit of linkin park/foo fighters/feeder/sbtrkt seems to do the trick for me
-
Aint seen nothing yet Bachman Turner Overdrive, Boys are back in town Thin Lizzy, or the classic Rocky III tune Eye of the tiger

I imagine the net sessions are a little bit of a disaster immediately after everyone doing that....!

If I am fielding I quite like to listen to Red Hot Chillies as I go running to it, and I link it to being energised!
If I'm batting then something mellow - even classical to relax and chill me out! :D
-
Just before I go to bat I put my headphones on and listen to bring me the horizon I doubt many of you have heard of them haha

Not my favourite british band. Much prefer Bullet for my Valentine. Iron Maiden, Number of the beast is always a good one before batting... A couple of years ago we did take some speakers and hooked them up, so we got an intro as we walked to the crease

A bit of "Fever" got me going on the way to games last year.

One of my ex's schoolmates is/was going out with Matt Tuck. She managed to wangle me a backstage pass whilst at Download festival the other year and I met a load of my heroes! Great weekend

seen them, erm, four times....not that I think they're all that mind. Same with Bullet, mentioned elsewhere - one great album at the start but two awful ones since...
