Real steal that is. Lovely looking bat and great price.
What's the weight?
-
My friend had a 606 and it looked a lot worse than this, seems like you could have got yourself a bargain here. I do like the Octane and the Argon this year from Gunn and Moore. What is the pick up like? I hope it serves you well :D
-
Looks lovely mate! I would say that it was downgraded due to the heartwood on the one edge which is why it would have been bleached.
-
Looks a beauty fella, I had a GM hero(yellow one) and it looked not dissimilar to this, played like a gem. Got yourself a bargain for £95
-
I wish there were bargains like this every day haha. Make sure you let us know how it plays when you get the chance to use it mate!
-
Lovely stick there. It looks absolutely fantastic for the price! Hope it scores you heaps of runs :)
-
That's an amazing price and the bat looks really nice
Ocatne's do have huge profile .
Enjoi your bat :)
-
Looks like an absolute bargain. In my opinion GM make top gear.
-
that certainly looks too good for the price. you are one lucky bloke!
-
Excellent for the price - really like the stickers on the Octane too. Lovely.
-
You took the 606 sticker off?
-
I did.
If you brought a original or 909 sticker people wouldn't even question it! Lucky that you found this bat at that price
-
I really do like this profile and you seem to have got a good deal fella.
How popular is this model, does it sell as well as the Icon?
You dont find any used ones for sale on Ebay and I havent seen one on this forum.
-
I did.
Are you hoping people will think you have taken the 'Original LE' sticker off?
-
What weight is this?
It's huge!
-

Turn it upside down and it's a 909 ;)
-
If the GM machine cuts all bats in a particular range to the same dimensions, shouldn't all Octane's have 48mm edges?

It is our best selling GM bat this season.

you can thank Joe Root for that :D
-
Correction from earlier, this actually has 48mm edges!
are you sure? for that weight, it would be very very difficult to get that edge size
in which case, congrats buddy! you are a very lucky bloke
-
They should all have that edge size?
The GM machine cuts all bat in a range to size. Variations in weight are down to variations in willow alone. That is what Mr Bacon told us, I'm sure.

I think edge sizes still vary, but I'm sure they don't vary that crazily! :-[ Maybe the machine wasn't quite calibrated as well as it should have been, or maybe it was a batch of extremely light clefts that they removed less wood from.

I think within reason. For heavier weights ie. GM Icon+, they do have a different profile setup to make bigger edges. It will depend on whether the variation in density meets the demand for bats at specific weights. Be surprised if a 2'10 required a different profile as it would close to the stock weight imho.

This particular bat is 2lb 8, is it not? That's a 'standard' kind of weight?
