Hi all
Had first training session today, fitness + fielding drills.
Started off with Bleep test think scored 11.8 is this any good only beaten slightly by 17 year old(I'm 35) how does this rate
BTW have been doing some gentle jogs + cycling to work in the winter
-
11.8 is good, I only managed 11.1 last year
-
My best was 16 a while back bit that was when I was playing semi pro footie and our fitness coach was an ex army pti lol
-
Hopefully with decent level of fitness will be turning 1's into 2's etc like I was a couple of years ago
-
Haven't done a bleep test for a while, doubt I'm that good at it lol - I remember getting 8 when I was about 10, hopefully I can better that with a score similar to you guys'! :)
-
Level 11 is an average level but for someone who is 35 its above average and pretty good fair play!
Roco level 16 is pretty special . . .been a personal trainer for years and before that in the army and never witnessed it!
-
What's your PB for these Dan, with your Personal Trainer Background? :)
-
Level 14 Shuttle 3 and i was hanging out my ass
-
I have never done the bleep test but know the theory behind it!
Where so you buy them from? And how much are they? I assume it is a CD where the level speed increases gradually and everyone runs between two lines set to a specific distance apart?
When I was young we had the 'hide the smokes from the teacher' test! And the 'Snog the school bike (her name was Julie)without anyone seeing you' test!

Yeah its a CD, known as the multi stage fitness test and goes up to level 23 I think!!!
Basically run 20m in time with the 'bleep', you start off as a walk and by level 12/13 you are running quite hard level 15 you are sprinting!
Highest level ive heard anyone achieve is 18 . . . any guesses on who? (clue - he is a sportsman)
-
Pro footballers have to complete it mate as part of their fitness tests so it was good but when your fitness trainer is an ex army pti you have to be fit as they are fitness freaks as anyone in the army will tell you
-
Beckham or Armstrong?
-
I heard Beckham
-
Beckham or Armstrong?
Close . . . He's German
-
Ballack?
-
Ballack?
He's not a footballer . . .Formula 1
-
Shoe-maker im guessing even at his age now hes uber fit as the stress levels on ur body in F1 are immense!
-
Correcto-Mondo Thomas
-
only did it a few times at GCSE and A-level PE bit of a killer few lads did pretty well in it from what i remember but they were on rovers/citys books by then at 16/17 where as i was on the injury list lol
-
We were told last year that the 'Multi-stage Fitness Test' (Bleep Test) was banned from schools as a kid had a heart attack and died during a P.E lesson! Not good!
-
I did in sixth form last year, got 11 something.

when he was supposed to take over from massa after his crash, but didn't due to weak neck muscles. I didn't have a clue what that had to do with it! I thought get a lighter helmet!? But then heard vettel saying that if your neck muscles aren't strong enough then your face will go through the steering wheel under braking!
-
I was happy with 7 something when I did one a few years back, it was about 4 more than I expected!
-
Interesting thing the bleep test not one we use often at all i think a weighted run is much better way of finding fitness and power
-
Plus the mile and a half run you will have done dave did mine in 11 mins and a bit on my army test
-
11 minutes is a fail for under 30's
-
It was 14 mins for a pass when I did it
-
not a entrance test it was not
-
When I went down and did the tests it was that was 9 years ago
-
Wouldn't have a clue about tests but can sprint a flat mile in 7 mins.
-
10 30 is the pass time for a mile and a half under 30 years old
-
Just remembered it was 1430 for women and 1230 for men as a pass
-
we do these for our Aussie rules trainings some guys are machines my best was 13.8 couple years ago. but top level AFL footballers have been known to reach level 21 (Robert Harvey ex St Kilda Legd) young guys now looking to get drafted by AFL clubs top the 16-17 levels and thats considered as tops in this fitness test
-
Bleep test just sounds weird. Beep test sounds much better, lol :)

Yeah, plan on doing that this year as it's my sort of thing (I'm a freerunner, so the whole obstacles in the way thing shouldn't be the hardest bit, the 10k of running will be!) Would've done it last year but Uni and health issues got in my way!

Im the opposite of you, 10k will be easy its the 10 main obstacles and other smaller obstacles that i more concerned with!!

That's not a long run! Mere sprint! ;)

I love the look of that event! Tough but satisfying!!
I may be tempted into doing that....just wish it was closer to home!

Well that would have got a seeing to afterwards!! haha
Our stretchers were made from steel scaffold bars and metal meshing and usually ran them when it was bogging wet and would slip and get battered by the bloody thing!
-
Getting better upto 12.2
