Less the price of the new stickers too
But if we're going by trade price, that's about 80p, surely?

no mate stickers of that quality are not cheap evan at trade price

my main gripe is not the studs but the old sticker marks

But i guess if the guy is happy with it that is all that matters

To be honest i do look after my bats and keep them always clean so my refurbishments are continual through a season so what the hell do i know.

I take on board your points, but they don't stack up, you obviously have a bee in your bonnet about having a debate about a subject you profess to know inside out. If it is a crap job then how will you better it?

I would suggest having refurbished many many bats myself that the hardest job is the removal of the stickers, they are not designed to come off with ease, then the glue will clog up the sand paper if you are lucky enough to have a drum sander.

Then how much willow do you sand off in order for the bat to go back to the owner at the same weight and balance?

GN are not here to work for free or cost, they wish to make a profit, they have to pay their batmakers for the work they carry out, they have to cover their overheads, they have to pay for the consumables, they have to pay someone in the office to take the enquiry, order, assignment of work and packaging.

Your argument centres on being able to do a better job, yet then you claim not to be able to do it as you don't have the tools, however you have listed them as sand paper and a craft knife. I wonder if you have actually done this before in which case surely you have the tools and time to perform this task.

This is not a win win situation for me, I merely want to point out to you that the job done may not be to your liking but you cannot offer any alternative so why moan?

to see the old sticker marks is poor to be honest, but that does depend on the age of the bat and how many times its been oiled

sanding the indentations is like sanding the rest of the bat. At no point did i say there should be no indentations and they should all be removed completely

I have seen enough refurbs to know what is good and what isnt. It isnt rocket science.

Also at no point did i say i couldnt do a better job, not having the tools which cost thousands of pounds simply means i take longer using a sandpaper and a craft knife! I didnt say i didnt have ANY tools i just dont have the tools that a batmaker would have in a fully kitted out workshop. As far as time is concerned yes, i do for my own bats in the sense i can take weeks on them as i work for 10 mins when i get the chance. I dont specifically make time to rufurb my bats and oil them and then admire them. I have a life as well as work!

...im not going to bother with this. You havent even read what i wrote properly and are puting words into my mouth. Read what i have written properly before you reply mate. If you want to bring into the mix the bussiness plan of a big company than its a much bigger issue which is not the customers problem. If the company cant provide a decent service with its current business plan then its not the consumers problem. The consumer has paid what he was asked for and expects quality in return. if they cant offer it then they should pack it up as the "profit" they are making is through poor quality work or raise the prices further. If they cant compete then employ better people who can improve the business plan.

And i am not moaning. I am pointing out the fact. GN have taken this guy out for a ride and charged him a stupid amount of money for the work they simply havent done. If it was me, i think i have made this fairly clear, i'd send the bat back. I have sent kookaburra a few bats for refurbs and they have always come back looking new regardless of indentations and are cheaper than GN beuase their quality adds up

I'll point out a fact, you are offering an opinion, you think GN have taken him for a ride, you need to address your rant correctly as it cannot be a fact unless you are GN and are admitting your own charge.

You are kicking up a fuss about the service, maybe you have a few issues you need to deal with but you are only offering an opinion at the end of the day, admittedly a loud angry one.

No, im pretty sure i am pointing out a fact. I know i can do a better job than that on one of my own bats. and mate, if i "sound" loud and angry then that your opinion in your head.

If you think that every post that doesnt have smileys is full of anger and is loud thats your problem. I usually reserve capital letters and exclamation marks for that  ;) :) :D Hope you feel better!!!!!!!! ...see what i did there

You claim to be able to do it, I can walk on water, how about that!!!

I've also been able to deduce your style without the need for smileys, sorry. So basically we are left with a whole load of promises and claims from you that you have no intention of proving, welcome to the forum, another valued member of the community...
