I played a Cross Arrows game at Lords a few years ago to celebrate 100th year anniversary. Speaking to the keeper after the game, he mentioned that he had played a game against us to celebrate our 50th anniversary. He had great hands even at his age. He even chirped me when I miss hit a four (it just cleared mid off), saying 'the bat must be pretty special to get away with that!'

Very nice man, with a good sense of humour, and great hands behind the stumps. I wonder if he is still playing.
