Hughes for Katich, since Katich is injured Hughes is the best option in my opinion.
Khawaja for North. North has been a failure throughout his career so far. He is really good solid batsman but he jsut isnt successful. In the recently conlcuded test he first time in his career made 20+ score in both innings. I am not sure if he has strong back or what but Australian selectors are not one who select under form batsman over and over again.
Johnson for Harris. experienced and deadly. He just needs some time. plus pitch in WACA will be very fast so Johsnon is a must
Hauritz for Doherty, believe in hauritz and that guy is a good player. If needed he can also bat and chip in valuable runs.

i would slide Ponting up to open and replace Katich with Khawaja or White

then i would drop Doherty and put in Hauritz and drop Bollinger and replace him with either Pattinson/Cameron

I would ask the Perth groundsman to create the greenest wicket possible, play 4 seamers by dropping Doherty for Mark Cameron who has been superb this season for NSW, bowling average of 11!

Drop North. The lad is suffering now, and cannot be exposed anymore at this level. As good a murderer of State sides that he is (a la Ramps), against the Worlds best simply cannot cope. Bring in Khawaja from NSW who is averaging 70+ this season.

The final decision is the most difficult. Who should replace Katich? Common sense says Hughes as he has been the man waiting in the wings, however his form has not set the world on fire. It would be a wildcard, but move Hussey to open the batting with Watson, who has done this before and bring in Cameron White, who scored a 100 against England XI for Aus A.

All suggestions are valid and equate to common sense unfortunately something the Australian selectors lack.
