No English batsman would take him apart.

They (No Swearing Please) the bed facing Ajmal FFS.

In any case, it is all fluff, because he won't do it.

You make a good point mate, but I think Ajmal might be a slightly better bowler in the sub continent than Warne might be now. 5 years ago when match fit, sure! Now, I don't think so, and if he's still that much better than any other australian spinner, why aren't CA knocking down his door already!

Unfortunately I beg to differ about no English batsmen taking him apart....

Kevin Pietersen averaged 61 against Warne and hit more sixes off him then any other batsman

in the best possible way, Vic's point remains valid!

He is certainly in better shape than he was when he retired, though, match fitness and general fitness are very different things.

I think Tim's post is the kicker here.

Yep England would be shaking after seeing him go for 40 from 2 overs tonight lol. Finch looked awesome though...and just quietly how cool are the stumps that light up and flash when the bails are off!!!

Gatt never stopped playing, from memory he doess alot of charity work playing for the Lords Taverners XI. Maybe Warne should stop being a billboard for the gambling websites and join him lol. I'm sure Warnie does his share of charity stuff.

Warne is the best bowler to have ever have played the game in my book so he can do what ever he wants. I just love watching him play.

Agree with you there mate, we were privileged to be able to watch warne bowl, always thought something would happen every ball!

Latest article here Clarke talking about warne...reckons he has asked him to come out of retirement heaps of times!

I have never been away!

Yes, I love the Ashes.

England will win in England - just too good. In Australia it will be a lot closer.

If you're quicks are fit and strong, I can see it being a belter of a series! I hope Hughes gets a good run in, and we can have a series against 2 full strength teams. I can see us beating you 2-1 here, and you beating us 2-1 over there, on current form. A lot can change mind, and I haven't seen many of the Aussie fast bowling reserves however, and I think a lot will depend on having a fit battery of quicks! Spin we've got covered I think, openers we've got covered, your middle order is stronger though IMO, and a lot will depend on getting Cook and Clarke early I reckon!

Agree with all that.

Swann and Panasar are both better than Lyon....but not by a lot. Lyon will still do well in England.

As for Aussie quicks - yes they are the ace in the pack...but you hit the nail on the head, can Australia get them on the park fit and firing?

Australia's premium bowling line up would be Pattinson, Starc, Cummins and Lyon. Of the pacemen, only Starc has any durability. Pattinson is injury prone and Cummins is the new Darren "sick note" Anderton. Interestingly, all four of those bowlers can also bat well too.

Alistair McDermott can't be far away either:
