If you're quicks are fit and strong, I can see it being a belter of a series! I hope Hughes gets a good run in, and we can have a series against 2 full strength teams. I can see us beating you 2-1 here, and you beating us 2-1 over there, on current form. A lot can change mind, and I haven't seen many of the Aussie fast bowling reserves however, and I think a lot will depend on having a fit battery of quicks! Spin we've got covered I think, openers we've got covered, your middle order is stronger though IMO, and a lot will depend on getting Cook and Clarke early I reckon!
Agree with all that.
Swann and Panasar are both better than Lyon....but not by a lot. Lyon will still do well in England.
As for Aussie quicks - yes they are the ace in the pack...but you hit the nail on the head, can Australia get them on the park fit and firing?
Australia's premium bowling line up would be Pattinson, Starc, Cummins and Lyon. Of the pacemen, only Starc has any durability. Pattinson is injury prone and Cummins is the new Darren "sick note" Anderton. Interestingly, all four of those bowlers can also bat well too.
Alistair McDermott can't be far away either:
