I bought the Gel Strike rate boots last year. Definitely worthy of an Asics badge. Very comfortable, no blisters.

I tried these on the other day at Owzat. I already bought a pair of the Puma Tricks however I took them with me (as I got them online from owzat) just incase I decided to change them for the Asics.

They are lighter than the Puma Tricks, however when I tried them on they didn't feel as comfortable. I think these Asics would be better for batting in than the Pumas as there isn't as much padding on the sole of the shoe, so you would be closer to the ground and also they are lighter so you would be able to manouver better around the crease.

However for overall use I would say the Puma Tricks are better as they offer more comfort, both on the bottom on the shoe but also around the whole shoe. I feel as though they would be better if you're using your spikes for bowling, fielding and batting rather than changing them to bat in etc. Also they offer better protection around the whole shoe which comes important when batting incase you nick one onto your foot.

Is it possible to get Puma Tricks with removable spikes ? (We dont use grass pitches in denmark, only when playing national)

Never seen spiked boots that aren't removable so I presume so.

Well you can remove the spikes, however I've only seen them available to buy in half spikes. You could ask/buy an extra set of plastic studs so that you can wear these on astro. Which is what I've done for some adidas spikes I have because every so often I play on astro pitches and it's a pain in the ass turning up and having to change your spikes.

I suspect so... I'd love to know who at Asics approved the addition of a suede section on the inside of the heel. You dont notice it trying them on in a shop but after a few hours of cricket everyone is in agony.
Some Onitsuka Tigers also have suede on the inside heel, couldn't imagine wearing them all day!

Wore them in the match today - have to say, a very comfy shoe! Felt like i had been wearing them for a long time and no signs of rubbing. Only thing i've noticed is that they are slightly heavier, or they feel like that anyway, than the advance 2's that i have. Generally very pleased though.....lets hope they serve me well this season!

It seems like I'm the only one getting blisters from these shoes, it's only on the right heel....

Any suggestions?

Man up Canners! What socks do you wear?  I wear the '1000 miles' socks and they make all shoes feel like slippers  8)

Canners fella - it's that extra toe on your right foot that's causing the blisters!
