Gunn Moore Flare DXM Original Ltd Edt Bat Review
« on: April 03, 2011, 05:18:17 AM »

Flare, was always on my mind and I always liked it and wanted to buy it! One of the prime reason to buy Flare was to see Umar Akmal play who I would say I admire. One of my team mate (ExtraCoverDrive Bhai) always told me that the way I bat Flare profile would work out well for me. So due to those factors I decided to buy one.

Weight of the bat is 2.7 but feel and pickup is impeccable. The feel in my hand of this bat is amazing but as much I praise I wouldn't say Flare's feel or pickup is better than Icon. Don't compare them Icon is in different class all together.

Again the order and everything was handled by cricketer13 Bhai. He ordered it for me from Mapperly Sports and bat came in two days time. Mapperly's service as usual is great and I think we have gotten used to Micheal's exceptional service. After buying so many bats from him this time he was kind enough to apply free GM shock absorba on my Flare which I found great because with shock absorba and Control grip underneath it feels great!

Won't be writing much as it would take your precious time so rather than text enjoy the pictures I have taken for you guys!

Again as I said was not intending to write a lot so if I missed anything and if you have any question(s) along criticism please don't hesitate to ask me.

Thanks!

I was tempted to buy one of these from GCCC as they were on early release because of the Ashes. But in the end I went for a GN players because the Flare had a really small toe and I didnt want to risk it. I sort of regret it as it was one of the nicest bats I have ever seen with 10 perfectly straight and even grains, plus had a really nice pick up.

You are in Oz mate, high bounce so I don't think a small toe would have been a problem.

My advice would be that something that is past and can't be changed then don't spend time regretting over it, I'm sure your current GN Players will score you tons of runs!

i have seen a lot of Flares and Flare + bats lately and rumour has it GM can't keep up with demand. I have also seen and used a Flare + that weighs 2.8 and picks up around 2.6. I will post photos later, and a lovely looking bat fella GM have upped their game this year a lot!!!

I just didnt want to risk it. From what I remember, the toe was smaller than the width of my pinky so I was like no. I will be grabbing one for the next seasons I think!

I think I got drawn into the size of the GN aswell, as it has 36mm edges compared to the Flares 20mm or so.

Thanks mate! I have mid range Luna (808) and trust me it is amazing! My mate was doing throwdowns with his Luna Original LE and that bat is absolute gun!!

Don't know how to answer that but whatever I had over the years have been spent on bats :)

True say mate when you spend top dollar you want something to be best and according to your specs so good that you didn't risk!

ALl GMS I have seen or own have thinny edges but never underestimate power of thin edge bat :D

How can you write reviews on bats when you've not used them? ;)
