Top online stores and physical shops
« on: April 06, 2011, 07:23:22 AM »

Chaps

Doing our research to pin down key retailers to look to sell our new model helmet come September. Thought it wise to tap into the knowledge base on the forum. as such it would be really helpful if people could list what they view as the top 5 online cricket retail websites and what they view as the top 5 specialist cricket shops?

Hopefully it will reveal a common theme that matches our thoughts :) Havimg not been to every shop in the country though it will give a good cross reference due to tge geographical spread we have on the forum!

Cheers

Online I'd also include Barrington Sports and Martin Berrill. Bought from both of these and they have both been excellent.

Offline, Morrant, Romida and Fordham spring to mind.

Before I joined the forum and was an uneducated so and so I always thought tue best ones for price reliability and customer service were:
Owzat
Romida - prices are cheaper online than in store as well
Serious cricket
Cricket supplies

I've not used others as there's really no need with these guys on the tinternet.

Owzat always had a very good customer service when I went in, or ordered anything online, so I'd certainly consider them Tom. Barringtons, Fordham, Martin Berrell, Romida as well.

I would include morrant as they supply so many other sports people tend to get everything from the same place

I think my answer would depend on whether you are looking to get the helmets out to a wide audience or keep them to a small section of specialist shops. If you are looking to get them to as wide an audience as possible then your best bet is probably to use the main search browsers and type in generic search items such as "cricket helmet" for instance. These would the websites with the highest hit rates and would therefore create more exposure. However if you were looking to keep it to a smaller more exclusive range of shops then getting peoples opinions is a good way to go.

Sorry for the long post...

The companies I have used in the past would be; cricket direct, morrant, prodirectcricket and owzat.

Thanks for the replies chaps...my initial thoughts yesterday correlated with some of the above, aim is to have the more affordable range of helmet placed in shops that cover a geographic region so they are stepping on each others toes.

E.g down here in the South West. Globe Sports cover Bristol and north upto Cheltenham, whilst SCS cover Somerset and down to Devon.
