Same,

2nd Game, LBW full toss (2)
3rd Game, Top Edge Full Toss - Caught (1)
4th Game, Caught from a block at short midwicket (0)

Something's gotta give

Played a friendly yesterday against a team in a higher league, equivelant to 4 grades higher so I'm told. They made 7/224 from 46 overs and we were 6/164 from our 46 in reply.

Opened up my tally in the UK with 2/28 and 40 runs so not too shabby I suppose. First league game next week so will hope to build on that start

Worst start to the season ever for me.
Fielded first, oppo got 342-5 off 40, shocking fielding. I dropped a straight forward catch in 2nd slip diving forward and managed to somehow burst an unknown cyst in my never region  >:( still fielded and put myself in at 11 and got 6 not out (quite a decent hit) And spent the night in a geriatric ward in lovely Goodmays.
now got a black groin and its the size of large water balloon.

Sorry to much info, but seriously peeeeeeved beyong belief (((Sighs)))

That's possibly the worst start to a season I can imagine! Hope your ok soon. A few years back I missed a waist high full toss off an opening bowler and was taken to hospital to have bits of my box (which shattered) picked out of my nether regions with tweezers by a male nurse called Darren......hope that makes you feel a little better....! The lesson I learned? NEVER store your box in a freezing cold cellar over the winter....

We got stuffed Mike. Our bowlers didnt bowl good enough, we fielded poor and we batted very under par. Freddie Butt was smashing it to all parts for Ardleigh Green until he got run out after running 2 then walking up to talk to the other batsmen.
Danny Evans and Richard Sherlock were bowling decent pace, but the pitch was not suitable for pace bowlers. PLUS!!! need to get rid of playing with bright orange cricket balls!! they fly off the bat.
All credit to Ardleigh Green, look a decent outfit this year and i hope their spinner gets his overseas status overturned.

Heard some horror stories about 'box's'. Chris Gladwin had a corker from Malcom Marshall, the story he told me i wont go into. lol

Think i may be resting this week, was looking forward to playing old southendians, LOL!. Although it was ok batting. Must say though, the 'Fatso' fells like a belter.
I am hoping i am fit for our cup game sunday against Harrow.

Ha ha - our overseas pro rolled off the plane from NZ at 10am this morning, got bunged into our Sunday friendly at 1pm.

Didn't know where he was, or what day it was and still smacked 65 from 55 at no3 against an ok attack, with one very sharp West Indian.

I think he might be a bit good.
