We survived an almighty scare today. Having been 173-3 off 33 overs, we collapsed to 228 ao off 44. My contribution was a solid 2* in amongst the chaos. They were 152-2 off 34 at one stage before we started to make inroads. With our best bowlers bowled out I have to come back on with 18 needed off 3 overs with 3 wickets left, classic squeaky bum time!. Managed to bowl to my field and the big boundaries with us running out winners by 4 runs. In fairness to us, the 2nd XI did have an aussie who took 2 fer, scored 87 and fielded like a demon - him and the other opening bowler were 1st teamers not in the ones for "political" reasons. They also had another lad who took 5 and scored 59, who was lbw 4 times but this is what happens when you don't have neutral umpires. Starting to see a trend in this Division regarding dirty tricks and teams efforts to stop us unfairly. Completely ignoring the LBW law seems to be the main one and another is watering the ends of the wicket to stop us batting first. Had a stupidly tight interpretation of the wide law to also contend with yesterday, we gave them plenty of room and they didn't.

Yesterday went dreadfully, Dropped their opener when he was on about 20, then missed a run out on him when he was on about 60 and he went onto make a century :( I also missed a run out another guy on his first ball and he scored a very quick 20 odd...

Batting I came in at number 3 and did shockingly bad, nothing was going right for me, was in for 5 overs and faced almost every ball of those 5 overs, scoring a dreadful 6 runs, every single one of them coming off the edge before being caught in the covers mis-playing a straight drive for the 2nd game in a row...

Just as I thought my season was starting to get going it all falls apart again, and I can't stop blaming myself for that guy getting the century, I over judged it, moved too far and it bounced off my wrists...

Well you've gotta move on. We've all been there, done something like that. Chin up, move on. Simple!

We scored 183 All Out on a difficult track with a team of west indians trying to knock our heads off. Our other opener was taken to hospital after taking a bouncer to the throat. After 10 overs we were 15-1, but we managed to get up to 100 off 23 overs.
I battled for 57 before being caught on the boundary.

Then bowled them out for 130 to clinch the win!

We played St Mary Redcliffe yesterday and they won the toss and chose to bat. They struggled throughout and never seem to offer a shot. This was proven when they were defending full tosses off our spinner and i was stood at gully for 3/4's of their innings! They were all out in the 40th over for 113.

We started well and didnt lose our first wicket till about 20 to win and i went and hit the winning runs with a 4 over the top. It was a great bounce back from last weeks defeat and an ideal performance.

they did the same against us...didnt seem to want to even attempt to post a total and tried to bat out the 45 overs! got a bit boring in all honesty as would much rather have a competitive game.

Did your Captain file a report with the Umpires Tom stating that the opposition were not interested in playing cricket ?

Can you actually do that?

Don't think that they weren't interested in playing cricket but think they realise they are going to struggle this season in the league especially against the better side...perhaps trying to pick up batting points and looking to try and roll over the sides in the bottom half of the table to survive ???

They were batting first and all out in 40 overs for 113. But they never even played a shot!
