Playing for the same club mate, ye the big man's a good laugh, and a good bloke to boot, but I'm still making my way at the club so cutting my teeth at 2nd XI level (and not doing too bad with an average of 58 or close to it). I figured you must have been good mates from your times at Ilminster(?) seeing as the Bulldog's make up a fair few of our first team's weapons.... very impressed. I played for Ilton last year and they are not looking very good at the moment, so would have been a good game if you were both under strength lol.

Yea I have known Em since he first came over from Zim. Still speak to him most days. Yea Des was saying that they were struggling a bit. Nice club you are at, top facilities now with the new pavilion.

Hope the rest of you season goes well.

Yeah, you too mate. I hear it's a difficult league to get out of, especially with Midsomer Norton tearing it up at the top. It's a  great club, not only for the facilities but there is much better team spirit than there was at Ilton, and not having a youth setup for so long will not help in the near future.

I'm looking forward to my 3rd trip of the season to Chard CC on Saturday :D Will you be gracing the hallowed turf of Minehead CC Nick?

Hallowed turf lol. Yes mate, I will be there. Small ground I hear, if your 39 sixes are anything to go by. Not played there for years, you still play on the school pitch?

More like bumpy, uneven and patchy turf! Haha, nah it gets mugged off by a lot of teams in the league, but the wicket is even for bat and ball. I dont think anyone has scored below 200 in the league on it yet.... And yep still in the school pitch, our new ground is next door, should be ready next year :)

Ah sweet, I heard you had a new ground. It's not a bad ground, just would rather drive to Bristol than along those (No Swearing Please) roads to get to Minehead lol. I am looking forward to playing you guys actually, we've been flying recently and would be nice to have a marker of how good we really are. What with your 2's this week, Knowle the week after, we need wins lol.

Yeah the drive is a kit of a nightmare, I drove up to your place on Sunday.... To be honest whilst our 1's have got a very strong side this weekend, I think our 2's are lacking a bit of batting to be honest. You guys had a strong team earlier in the year so anything could happen! Should be a good game :)

Played 1st team today, and got 11 not out, saw out the overs, faced ex England bowler chris silverwood. And we won by 7 runs so I take claim to some valuable runs

Won today against top of the league, bowled them out for 208 0ff 44 overs, and we got them without losing a wicket. Our pro got 117 not out, the other opener retired hurt with cramp, ive never seen cramp that bad, he was literally carried off, and our numver 3 got 70 odd, top top game and a great win.

Won but only got 1 opening up. Tool 3 catches though

Sam billings scored 210 for our 1s though, watching him bat was pretty nice though!

Played today, and we won, the last time we won was the 30th of April  :D

Batted first, I came in at number 5 with the score on 175-3 off 39, took a single to get strike for next over then swept their fast bowler for 4, followed by a reverse sweep for 3 but sadly got out trying the "Dilshan" shot over the head, flicked it up but it went too high, didn't get enough distance and was caught. After that I got abuse from my team-mates for it for the rest of the game  :-[

We were defending 210 and did well with an early wicket, however they built a partnership and were 68-1 before I started bowling. Usually I will take 1 or 2 wickets if I'm lucky, but something just clicked and took 4 wickets from my first spell(Can only bowl 5 overs as I'm 15) Including a C&B of their opener who smashed it at my feet with what was labelled by one of my team-mates as "One of the best catches I have ever seen" (I'm 6'2 so reaching the ball was a bloody good effort  ;) )

However came back on when they were 9 down and got the final wicket to complete my first ever 5fer(Sadly I didn't take a picture so 'til I next see the scorebook I have no proof) Although my team-mates still haven't forgiven me for getting out trying the "Dilshan" but tbh, even the opposition captain was praising me on the way I was batting soo...

bowled oppo out for 58 in 31 overs and did it for 1 in 8 overs. Not much to say, some of us did have a net afterwards as it was 4.30 and we hadn't done much.
