it doesnt have to be at 90mph to cause injury as im sure many of the people who have been injured will vouch for at 50 mph the ball will still cause significant damage.

The BSI testing only caters for speeds of upto 65mph which im sure you will see in most decent standards of cricket ???

yes but i doubt a 50 mph ball is going to crack the helmet ive been hit at 75 and minmal damage wasd produced on the helmet my point being it cracked probaly becuase the ball was short and at 85 + and the track is a decent pace .

I would say no amateurs face 90mph bowling but as Tom said they are only tested to 65 mph and I face more than that regulary enough

Tom. If one of yours gets hit. Would you advise to change it, or is it still suitable to use?

Brittle plastic....should have been strong enough as the polystyrene liner give it rigidity

And the act of breaking the plastic will dissipate a fair amount of energy.

Is the 65mph BSI use at impact or bowler release?

Grille looks like a steel one. Mahela also had a steel grille.

Tom...it's a drop test so is dropped from the height which is equivalent to metres per second so not sure. Were looking at the testing procedure to make it more realistic with a few people/bodies at the moment but it's early days.
