What's up this time? A pre-Atherton
Gray Nicolls Powerspot is what.
This one weighs in at 2.11 without the grip, which was knackered and has never been used. As you can see, it has a rubbish grain structure, which leads me to believe that it is at best Grade 4 English, but in reality, I believe it is a Kashmir Willow edition. I gave it a quick coat of oil to see whether that would make it any easier to see. Sadly the model sticker is missing.
Now I've said before that I believe that Powerspots don't have a middle, however, when using the mallet on this one, I was shocked as I found it! And it's a reasonable size. I hadn't realised just how low a middle these bats have, and they are surprisingly solid pieces of wood.
