Not particularly a fan, would rather have more timber behind the spine to assist with middled shots - after all the idea is to middle the ball

i used a bat at the weekend that has massive amounts of concaving, the middle when hit flew, but anywhere else i may as well have been using a kashmir plank, my match bat has subtle concaving and that works a treat.... my next bats will all have minimal concaving

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

its a trade off between edge thickness and spine height.

you cant really have both without the concaving

No mate. Especially when you some of those lavers getting about. Big shark fin looking things haha. My match bat has been a paradox which does have concaving, but nothing major. Previously I have just used Screaming Cats which have traditional profiles and they are awesome. Don't see all the hype about huge edges - but I'm not a 'slogger' I tend to rely on overpitched deliveries and work the ball about. Can see how they could possibly be beneficial for blokes who go hard all the time and are liable to mistiming their shots

no concave for me either, prefer having the wood spread out so it feels you middle it every time

Like it. Means the wood can be distributed to where you actually hit it and at lighter weights, with a better pick up

I like a little concaving, aloways found it a bit more forgiving for a lower order batter like myself

A bit of concaving imho is good for a balance of pickup and a larger middle. Had a couple of concaved bats and they've been as good as anything at the weight.

Some of the extreme concaving I've seen is pointless.

I prefer concaving as it helps you with fast bat speed/swing.
Its also good for balance and pick up.

I like a little bit of concaving as I bat in quite an aggressive manor in the middle order of the 1st team and tend to be sent in to accelerate the run rate. A little bit of concaving gives some of leaway when trying to force the odd shot that perhaps isn't quite there. If I play in the seconds I bat top 3 and will tend to use a bat with no concaving as I have the luxury of waiting for the correct ball to play at and therefore am more confident of middling it.

not a fan, perhaps because i like a heavier bat which you can feel when in your stance. Also, you cant beat getting off the mark with a thick outside half in to the covers, cant imagine that the concave bats offer much at the start of your innings while you search for timing.
