Redback At procricket direct.

http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Search.aspx?q=redback

Procricket direct are selling Redback cricket bats. It would seem that they are not advertising the fact, but if you type Redback into the search the above page comes up. And a little bit of a discount is available over the normal rrp.

Better spending the extra and going direct to Gary though, the only input you get into your bat on their is 'light' or 'heavy'!

I just like the way they display the products. Better than stock photos

If the clefts are released by Redback, you would expect them to be of belting quality as per. I ordered my last bat from the internet and stated 'medium' weight and it has been fine. If you are going for the full custom bat experience then i can understand the desire to go and see the factory in person. If you were going to buy a off the shelf bat from a large company, this maybe a way to get a better quality bat at a cheaper price.

If I'm spending £240 on a cricket bat then I want more than just saying 'medium' weight. I want photos of the cleft before etc.

That's what I mean, I wouldn't personally buy a bat from a website like that, or any site for that matter. However I was just pointing out that I like the look of the site, and descriptions for softs etc are fine. When I got my H4L's, I was in constant talks with Matt about clefts, photos etc

Yeah, the website is very well designed, and photos of products are a massive deal.

When I got my Redback I was probably a pain in the (No Swearing Please)! Wanting 24/7 communication!

I think Matt was pleased to get rid of me as well...never left him alone. Now I am on to him about refurb, little repair and a net bat!

Cricket bats are ok as if you order a 2.10 and they send 2.14 you can request a refund but what if the same with softs ? After all one has purchased based on the information provided. If the softs do not match the product info , what does the consumer do ? (again this is about online sales)

That's a risk you take with any online purchase you make, cricket or not. Bats are difficult to buy online, however I don't see that problem with softs, bags etc. Not to that extent anyway

I thought it was interesting as it might be an indication that Redback are trying to get a piece of the main stream market, as well as the die hard bat freaks (meant as a term of endearment). If the company could devlop both sides it may well be a clever bit of business.
