H4L softs - help needed **now bought and pictures added**
« on: August 27, 2011, 04:19:37 PM »

I was just wondering if anyone could shed any light on what the H4L softs are like? I have had a trawl through the threads but there isn't much in the way of reviews on them. I am thinking of switching my softs from Redback to the Hattori softs following my recent purchase my H4L hattori bat.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Love the H4L gloves really comfy and I love them.
Lets you get a good grip of the bat but they also offer good protection :)

I haven't got the H4L Hattori gloves, rather I bought myself the H4L limited edition batting gloves. Granted they aren't the same gloves, so instead of the Hattori gloves having the fingers in two pieces, the limited edition are in three pieces. But I can tell you now that the quality of the H4L gloves is top notch. My previous set were a pair of GM Maxi Originals, and they don't come anywhere near the quality of the H4L gloves. For me, the H4L ones are comfy, good looking, very well made, excellent when gripping a bat and are the best pair of gloves I've owned. They're also made with Pittard's leather, so they are top quality as well. A few pictures below of them if that interests you;

Top quality gloves, but I notice that the Hattori ones right now are showing pre-order for march. Not sure whether that means march 2012, or if that page hasn't been updated since march 2011.

Thanks for your help guys. I ordered the Hattori softs which I picked up from the post office yesterday and I am really impressed with them. The gloves have to be the most comfortable I have had. Will get some pics up later

 :D Absolutely. Loving H4L gear......so much so I've just ordered another bat from Matt. Pads are lovely, a little bit heavier than my old Redback ones but these fit better and are so comfortable. If you are still undecided on your gear for next year Reds - I would definitely recommend it

Yes, 100% English pittard leather palms according to the H4L website. You can just make out the Pittards tag on the cuff of the glove on the left

Mav, whihc gloves have you used in past? [Just to compare how good these are]

You rate them higher than Redback ones?

I had the Redback traditional and Salix Pods. The Salix were nice but the extra padding in the 'V' of the thumb and first finger felt quite thick and didn't feel comfortable when holding the bat. This season I have been using the Redbacks which were very good if not a little chunky in terms of protection. I would say I have average size hands and there was a bit of room in the Redbacks but I think the sizing of these is spot on for me.
