were allowed a squad of 8 to be submitted at the start of the season, 2 are currently not available, one of whom is a minor counties all rounder and the other a useful nurdler who bowls accurate slow medium pace. thats why our batting is lacking, im sure the bowlers are capable enough with the bat but they just need some guidance and im not really sure how to advise them

The format MrCricket plays I believe is similar format to the original devised indoor cricket game. There are numerous videos on YouTube of the indoor cricket world cup using a variant on MrCrickets format, Scott Styris plays for NZ in one from 1995. I watched a few of them and have yet to see a six, the fielding standards in these videos are insane as well.

no net but yellow kook ball. pads optional, helmets for under 18s and gloves essential though

current side and set up, would you change it?

batting

1 out and out bowler, self confessed phobia of the ball when batting
2 in proper cricket terms id say a decent number 9 who likes to play square of the wicket, capable of rotating the strike

3 run out prone, good eye, hitting against the scoring wall not in his strenghs though
4 calm, logically minded bowler, can hold a bat but doesnt make regular contributions to the team score with the bat

5 bowler. prone to getting out often but can block out and occasionally contributes a few to the total
6 me, only recognised batsman

bowling

1st over - good seam bowler who does a bit with it, rarely goes for many runs
2nd over - decent seamer, not as good as 1 or 5 but bowls good areas
3rd over - wayward slow medium, never know what to expect
4th over - line and lengh, but will slip down leg side, better batsmen will hit him straight
5th over - best bowler, quick, full and straight, sometimes tries too many variations and has gone for runs in the past

I've always found that a short 3rd man and fine leg, short cover and mid wicket and try to bowl just short of a length, usually works well, slow loopy spinners works as well as they normally go for the big hits and forget about the easy singles, bad idea if youre playing a strong hitting team mind

all teams have roughly the same field, 2 on the scoring wall and cover + midwicket.

when the batting side are playing defensively i move cover in to 3rd man and long off up to cut off the single in the off side.

r games is bit diff.

u bowl of 22 yards but only run of 18 when batting

there are 6 on each side. each pair face 6 overs(everybody bowls an over each)

the side walls are split into 1 run and 3 run sections.
u get nothing for behind the stumps unless u run.
the back wall is 4 and 6. u can be caught off any of the walls apart from the back wall.
wides are 2 runs no extra ball.

there is a line on the floor for shorts balls if u bowl short u the team gets two runs and no extra ball.

the ball is allways live!!!! unless a wicket has fallen.

we have a 100% record too. shame its 100% loss. we played yesterday and got hit for 193 in 12 overs. i went for 40 off my 3. not bad seens we had 5 players for the first 2 overs and my first went for 21. we ended up about 50 short. i got 60 not out and then wides were the next best! disappointing to say the least
