Weight loss
« on: January 21, 2012, 02:32:23 PM »

I am posting this to maybe give hope to people who are looking to lose a few pounds

I have more than a few pounds to shift and decided at the turn of the year that my head was in the right place to make a change.
I had my last alcholic drink on new years eve and on the 5th of January i started my quest.
My starting weight was 117.5 kg or 18st 6.5lbs.
I have cereal for breakfast, either soup or salad for lunch and say grilled chicken or fish with steamed vegetables for dinner.  I am only having potato once a week and cut my bread intake down to 3-4 slices a week.I also (now dont laugh) do an hour of Wii Fit every day.
Today is day 17 and i have lost 7kg or 1 stone, i feel brilliant, long way to go but its a start .

Good stuff, I'm too trying lol.

But isn't bread good especially if it is rich in fibre?

I haven't had any diet plan like you but I increased my water intake and I feel it affect obviously it didn't shed 7 kg but taking more water increase your metabolism rate.

I also do some pushups, sit ups etc before sleeping and every now and then when I can do so.

Im trying to get a bit fitter also to be fair its much needed and overdue!  I have not drunk alcohol since december (to be fair the wife is waiting to have our first kid any day so its been a good excuse), also trying to be much better during the week, weighing cereal for breakfast as I was amazed how much more i was eating than i should have been! I am normlly too busy for lunch but I have been having crilled chicken or salmon and salad for tea most nights.  Have not been so strict on myself at the weekends to be fair.  Im also doing some extra workouts on the Xbox along with walking with the wife of an evening.

Good luck with it and keep it going

Cover_drive for me bread bloats me too much, get my fibre from my cereals, generally bran flakes or shredded wheat.
Drinking loads more water too by cutting out the tea and coffee during the day.

Golders, to much veg for it to be atkins but see where you coming from, Dont feel deprived at all, just feel bloody good. Target weight.... now thats a tough one. would love to hit 15stone for the start of the season

Ah okay, fair enough.

For me in breakfast its either bread or cereal for breakfast (lol I can't get over rice krispies despite knowing they are not rich in fibre).

I don't think tea or coffee so thats a plus point for me.

FOr me first and foremost target was to cut junk I would eat a pack of Miss Vickies KEttle Cooked chips every night of the week while studying and now it is once or twice a week thats it.

Wow P-cock, you are almost mirroring me (albeit better at the diet bits I feel!)

I am 17.2 at the moment (down from 18.6 a year ago, but that's more through luck than strict dieting) - I too would like to be around 15 stone for the start of the season. I'm back in the gym, no alcohol for last 2 weeks. Cutting down on carbs too.

Please keep us updated, I'd be fascinated in how it goes for you over the weeks.

One thing I cannot get on with though - is trying to run!!!!!!
