Toe repairs

Hi guys was wanting to learn how to do toe repairs as few of my bats and a few at our club have toe splits/cracks that need fixed. anyone dealt with this and does anyone know how to repair it?

Depends on the extent of the damage. You can put up some pictures for people to help you better.

Wood glue and clamp normally work and a bat tape too is helpful but everything might depend on the particular case.

This one is a bit more complicated I feel; but with my little knowledge I think wood glue and clamp might be a start and then some tape work. What do others feel?

Would rather avoid the tape! If I may ask what's a clamp mate?

May be worth sticking some dowel through it as well.

Good idea Nathan.

@ Scott: something like a plier with two arms which will hold the two ends together strongly after you glue them together.

Oh silly me! I knew what a clamp was. Just thought there was a different type of clamp that was used in woodworking lol

There are: you can get some good clamps where you can control the pressure applied. Search on fleabay and you will get some idea and perhaps a good deal as well.

just carefull not to dent the bat when clamping- what do you guys do to ensure this doesn't happen?
