If you have been playing 'youth' cricket in like youth cup matches and youth league matches and have scored bundles of runs or taken lots of wickets, then there will be someone taking note.

Example - Joe Bloggs has made 500 runs in 10 x under16 matches or taken 40 wickets in 10 x under 16 matches - then trust me someone from the youth set up will take a look or ask for you to participate with them. You can be the most technical player with no flaws in your technique, but this means nothing with no runs or wickets.

At your cricket club you will have a youth officer that will be able to ask Durham to take a look at you as you have been performing out of the ordinary

Because the right people (i.e. coaches and scouts) will have far better things to do than trawl around the 2nd XI and club U15 circuit looking for players that they already have. Unless your coach can recommend you, i doubt anyone else's will, as they will have their own players that they will want to recommend as improving through county will improve their team. Are you hitting 65+ every time you bat/taking 4/5 wickets every time you bowl, because I;m guessing that is what you will need to be doing to be good enough, if you are only playing 2nd's occasionally which suggests you're a) not good enough to play every week, or b) not committed enough. We have players who are 14/15, playing and performing in our 2nds every week who aren't even close to county selection.

firstly befor you go for full county try your minor county or district side as more chance and if you impress there you will be put on right path

ive played with and against some very good players who were not in the set ups and some average ones that were but just dont pin all your hopes on as i had trials when 17 but knee blew not long after impressing and knocked me back for a while but bounced back now

which is what I have done apart from for 2-3 matches when I was in bad form, whats the difference. everyone gets out of form.

Also I was 2nd highest run scorer for my team, top played county and top wicket taker and had one of the best bowling averages in the league

I can't comment as I've never seen you play, or maybe I have and I just don't know it? But to get into the Durham set up for ages U15's or U17's is going to be extremely difficult, they currently have an excellent set up there and would take a serious amount of run's or wicket's at club level to get noticed!

Like I said look up your district as most county's will not respond or give out trials without references etc from coaches they know but easier to get a reply from district or minor county set ups from your league board and is the step below county but upto you if you listen
