I'll grip it at some point, 2.9 naked, would be 2.7 with standard blade, toe is 38mm thick so you get the idea of solidity...
Standard blade would've made it perfect for me. Although I would move the middle a bit higher and thin out the toe just a wee bit to improve pickup. Making it more of an all around bat.
When I first looked at the splice area, I too thought it was a bit weak. But with no imperfections in that area, should be just fine. Even more so for a standard blade, assuming the length of that thinnest part is reduced further ...
Is this a new shape from *that* batmaker? It's beginning to grow on me ...
