Surely you didn't not play because of the weather? It was the best track and weather it the season

Weather was great, but following last weekend downpours through Tuesday, the ground was pretty wet. The downpours you saw at the test hit us on Friday (and were incredibly heavy), and we also had a couple more between 7pm and midnight, with no drying out possible. The rain was so heavy that at 10pm there was about 1/2 an inch of water on the outfield, and the additional rain overnight meant one square had a pond and the other wasn't fit to play today (i.e. when you bounced a ball off it, it brought water to the surface!)...

Roll on Autumn... We might get some play then.

I think our ground is just saturated. We're on the Sand and Gravel in the South East which once soaked, stays that way!

pretty awful game of cricket. We bowled the oppo out for 51 and won by ten wickets. The oppo consisted of 1 adults, 10 kids of which one guy slogged 34 (he was dropped second ball).  They were 45-1 when I came on. Took 6-3-4-5, all clean bowled but they were all kids who couldn't hold a bat much. Finished at 4.30pm and went to watch the 1st team and they chased down 165 for 2 down  :D

Are your team in the right league Nick? It always seems like you batter every team?

I got 76 today, with my broken finger, coming in a 37-3 that then turned into 38-4 after 20 overs. Ended up 172 ao. Oppo got it with an over to go. Bugger... Blueroom really goes tho :)

top versus second yesterday, we were inserted and, after a couple of debateable LBWs and a couple of jaffas, were 24-5.  Managed to make 184, then had the oppo blocking out from miles away to finish a squeaky draw.

Oh the sledging!

No we aren't in the right division lol. It's the first year we have had a 2nd XI and naturally started at the bottom. However we had some good players to start with and recruited pretty well during the winter. However we picked up a 11 point deduction for an unregistered player (the league dereigstered him and admitted the rules were flawed) and the top team, despite losing by 7 wickets to us have played every game bar our reverse fixture. Even that game we are having to appeal as they called it off and tried to claim the points!. Our 1st XI getting put into the bottom division, 3 years ago was a complete joke. They've now gone over 1000 days unbeaten in league cricket as a consequence!
