Finally batted for the first time this season! I was captaining a team with 6 x14 year-olds in a league game, so a very unpleasant experience as really was a case of 'men against boys' but I'm proud of all my youngsters as they really battled hard in the field to restict oppo to 200 off 54 overs.

Sadly we weren't up to it with bat, subsiding to 102 all out, 2 overs off the draw!

Yours truly managed a streaky 30 from number 9 - twatting the seamers, but all at sea against the wily old leg-spinner :)

who got rest of runs?

Ian Rodgers 70, Smyth 42, Gazzard 57* - I think you've only played with Gazzard. 1s won - 268-7 in 45, filo 50, ash 50, ifti 76* in 37 balls, Old Leos 40ao - Will 4-17, Ifti 4-13

good work fattus, thought you were going to open?

Couldn't bring myself to do it - looked at chasing 200 of 45 overs and thought I might have to have a slap lower down - sadly I cam in at 40-7 so that (No Swearing Please) that idea!

Wish I had opened now!

Lost today on a belter of a track I got 0 lbw but according to a bloke (plus all of our team and 10 of there's who did not appeal) it was the worst decision he'd seen in 45 years of playing cricket so feel little hard done by as on a bouncy track I came down wicket 3 yards and ball hit me just below knee roll and im 6ft4 then ump gives me saying its plum nice

Same happened to me roco, annoying when i've been waiting weeks for a good track!

Least i got a few wickets to make up for it :)

that isn't out, the ball would be dead. if he was given out the umpire is wrong

We played on a road, the m3 i believe,

Lost the toss oppo chose to bat, we restricted them to 289/4 from 50 overs, we were chuffed as we thought 300 was par, we went out to bat knocked them off with with 14 balls to spare and only 3 down, our opener batted through for a brilliant 125*.........beer tasted sweet last night

Lost our third of three t20 matches this season chasing for the third time yesterday!

I think our Capt has lost all three tosses so far and we let the oppo reach a score they never looked like achieving after 12 overs.. I opened scoring 23 with the first outing of a hell4leather 666 5* purchased off a forum member...probably didn't score quick enough though and need to get in line more and time better on an unpredictable wicket. Unfortunately, cracked the toe on the outside edge for the third time this season!?! but it's not serious like the others...

However, we only had 9 men yesterday.. confidence is low and although we'll challenge in the 40 over format, I think our team has lost it's way a little.. hopefully we can get it back in the 3rd/4th playoff in 2 weekends time against the team we lost to yesterday by 20 runs or so...

Lost yesterday, we were 212 all out and they knocked them off with 8 wickets down and 5 balls to spare. Bit of controversy though as at one point the scoreboard said 7 overs to go but both umpires thought there were only 5 left. We counted up what everyone had bowled and also came to 5 left. 20 minute break in play where the umpires conferred and then went to check the book. Disappointingly the umpires eventually agreed with the book (oppo were scoring as we didn't have a scorer) and insisted the book could not be changed - basically admitting they were both incompetent. Not good as we thought they needed about 40 off 5 but suddenly it was 40 off 7.

Decent day for me 41 with the bat and 2 wickets, bit expensive with the ball but my figures should have been 5 overs and not 4 as in the book due to the mix up. Shocking in the field too as I was knackered in the heat. Batted ok in my usual attacking style, think I played 1 forward defensive and got my 41 off about 8 overs with mainly boundaries. Dropped a couple of times too but it's now 103 runs in 3 innings with the redback I bought at the end of last season which for me is amazing. Used to bat 9/10/11 when I was younger and bowl - now its the other way round, though admittedly the lower standard helps.

4 innings with my new fat bat. 387 runs including 2 centuries on the spin: -)
