funny thing happened in my game yesterday some guy caught caught out off a no ball but he didn't realize it was a no ball he was walking off angry when ups shouted him back so our fielder who caught it threw it to the keeper and ran him out he was peeved off then haha

Thats not something to boast about, thats not being a gentlemanly cricketer

Had a 16 over youth game today, captain went to London without telling anybody so we brought in one of my team-mates' young brother and I took over the captaincy, not the best start. Felt a little out of my depth as I hadn't planned bowler usage etc.(As I thought the captain would be there..) didn't bowl particularly well but as a whole we did well and contained them to 120 off their 16. By the time both of our openers were out it was 55-2 off 8, the run-rate soared as me and the other guy got ourselves in but when we were, the run-rate dropped rapidly. Needing just 4 off 7 balls I looked to tap a ball down leg-side for a single, edging it and being caught behind for 39(my new high score). The guy I had batted with got out next ball and we ended up losing by 3.  :(

Unlucky A-Swing-And-A-Miss, that was a great effort being thrown in to captain on the day.

We had a mad game last night. Was roped in to play in the 1s in a Middlesex CCL Cup 20/20, against local neighbours North Middlesex, who we don't like much apparently (I think they're alright but what do I know)...

Restricted them to 149-8 off their 20 on our small ground, which was a good effort, and then in reply the top 8 decided to bat like we had 10 overs to get our target, leaving us 39-8 off 5.4 overs.

Cue me (at number 10) and number 9 to get a 100 partnership, and we then won the game on the penultimate ball.

I finished up on 62*, definitely the best innings I've ever played given the situation. :D

i guess the appeal follows in the heat of the moment. but the team can always take it back. and in fact it should not come to that. I am shocked the umpire gave it out.

well, aside from teh spirit of cricket stuff, it technically wasn't out - a man can only be run out off a no ball if he is actively attempting a run...

Because it's a pathetic way to play cricket if you're going to appeal for that!
it happened really quick wasn't like he was in the pavilion when we did it he was just about 3 yards out of his crease walking off
and at the minute im not playing test level cricket so umpires may get things wrong now and again and players may not know all individual rules.

Cup T/20 tonight. Went along to watch and was told to get my kit as we were one short. Batted six, faced last ball of the innings which I hit for 4. We got 177-4 in our 20 I think. Their innings never really got going with regular wickets falling, I managed to take a catch and got 3-0-13-0 bowling at the end.

You should realise that that is pretty bang out off order though, even more so at village level!

Took a catch off our openers bowling but dropped one off my own bowling, and the guy went onto get 60 odd.. Ended up with 8-2-23-1(Including only going for 1 run in the final over of the innings) as they made 190-7. We kept up with the run-rate but kept losing wickets and eventually I came out at number 11 with the side needing 10 to win off 3.5 overs. Dug in with the ball swinging a mile and finished 1* as we won it with 8 balls to spare. Very glad we won as clearly the Spirit of Cricket is an unknown phrase at the opposition club, calling our players cheats when a couple of their appeals for caught behind were given not out (despite the fact all of our batsmen would walk if they ever edged anything)..

Dull Saturday for us. 1st XI Oppo ruined the game and batted first, 90ao and we did it for 2 down in no time. I was in the 2s and we did similar, bowling oppo out for 81 (should've been 50 odd really) and doing it for 1 in 23 overs. My effort with the ball - 2.1-1-2-3 and the skipper dropped 2 at slip!. My 2nd XI bowling figures stand at a yawn inducing 33.2-10-42-10 and I've not batted this season in the league lol

Another single figures score for me :( I've pretty much been told that I'll be demoted down the order now, which is pants as the plan was to score bIg runs this year to try and get back in the 1st XI, so really I want to bat in the top 3. It's totally justified though and I probably need to be thankful I'm not being dropped to the 3rd XI (yet)

Got my first wicket of the season though, and felt like the first time this season I've bowled with any real control.

Really good win too. Bowled out opposition for 184 and knocked them off for 5 with plenty of overs to spare.

So far this year the club is undefeated in the league at our home ground! We get a good bunch of spectators down and there's always a good atmosphere + banter with the crowd. Also our club chairman buys the team a jug whenever they win at home - so far he's paid out every week!

Lost the toss and other team chose to bat - seemed a strange choice as they hadn't scored over 100 in a game so far. After 23 overs we had them 69-3 and we're looking good. 23 overs later they were 256-4.
Was happy enough with my figures 13 overs - 29-2. We were just missing a couple of bowlers.

In response, we were equally as dismal -56 for 6. Couple of guys stuck around though and we ended on 118-7.

Really gOod game yesterday despite losing by one run! which was out first loss of the season. They scored 234 off their 45 overs got one wicket for far too many runs bowling at the death and a run out. Chase started well and we were 90-3 at drinks We went to 111-6 in the space of a few overs but me and the skipper put on 111 for the 8th wicket before he got out for 64 in the penultimate over, needed 9 to win off the last over and it went down to the last ball and I missed it, very annoying but I scored 42* off 44 balls so I didn't have a bad day and was nice to finally get a decent score this season

It was the 3rds v 4ths yesterday, which only means one thing, BANTER, a lot of it! They got 162 all out after the Hunter bowling show was complete  ;) We lost early wickets an decided we were never going to win so played for the draw and got it. I ended on 4* after being at the crease for 12 overs. Got 4 wickets which was nice as well. Should have been 5 if I'd have caught one after the batsmen chipped it back up to me, but I dropped it, they ran, I picked up the ball and ran the other batsmen out. Happy days :) Here is the scorecard http://caldy.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11417172
