Lost yesterday were 40-6 I oppened + was still there no reason to be 40-6. Then no 8 got 40 before I got an edge + keep took low catch diving to his right didn't help everyone telling me how unlucky I was he don't do that. Scorebook said 18 but out by 6 when I added it up maybe getting those as must have been mine or byes as noone else batted long enough.  Kept wicket for first time ever @ age 36 think I did ok.

2nd game of the season for me today. Fielded in the drizzly rain for 3hrs, had tea, openers batted for ten overs only for it to hammer down and match abandoned. Waste of a day!!

Comfortably the worst way to spend a day....I share your pain mate, nothing worse than that. Everyone knows it's going to happen but you have to go through the motions anyway. Same thing happened to me yesterday...got home cold and wet.

I forgot to post about last week, had Parley away. Probably the best team in the league, they elected to bowl, scored 256. With 44 runs coming in the last 2 overs! Admittedly the deck was still fairly good, but that was just far to much for us, after the start we had. Came in at number 7, scored 16, before being bowled around my legs, bloody leg spinners! Here's the scorecard for the game; http://dorchester.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11469899

Yesterday, on a pitch that was pretty damp, as there covers are high and the rain just blows under. However it was the derby Dorchester vs. Weymouth. We lost the toss and were put into bat, and we were without a couple of our better players. Again our top order failed, I came in at 51-5 in the 20th over, batted for a bit before we went off for rain, we came back out and I shared a 61 partnership with the number 6, before he got out. Left me and the captain a couple of overs to have a go, and we was going along nicely, until the last over where I got out stumped of a legside wide, managed to score 26 off 100, I know its boring but in the heat of the moment that was what was needed. We managed to get to 148-8 from our 50 overs. They had a restricted target of 124, and knocked them off 7 wickets down. I didn't bowl. Fairly annoying lose against Weymouth. Bring on next week. And here's a scorecard of the game; http://dorchester.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11469900

Getting really fed up now, first game of weekend cricket for me of the year and got 2 on a used and slow pitch.  Very annoying as I middled a couple straight at fielders and then played across the line to a straightish ball that stuck in the pitch a little so was through the shot early despite having been telling myself to play straight the whole time. Grrr! To make matters worse we lost, I wouldn't mind getting a low score if we won but we were bowled out for 129 in 32 overs and the oppo got it 8 down in 24 overs, there were a couple of dropped catches that probably lost us the game.

With a top score of 8 not out and a grand total of 15 runs from 4 innings this year I feel I might need to start netting to iron out a few problems.....or take up bowling.....

won our cup QF today. Bowled the oppo out for a very generous 85. We didn't bowl very well and the batting wasn't at it's best either as we limped over for 6 down. Happy with my 8-1-9-2 including a couple of drops. Got a bit more spin today, though I could've bowled a more attacking line and a little fuller at times.

Played against Pokesdown Willows at Kings Park. Horrible ground, at one point we had 3 kids playing football on the outfield. They're guys asked them to move, they got all aggressive and we then had 3 police cars turn up. Then when the police left the lads parents turned up and started mouthing off!

We played through the rain as much as we could yesterday to the point it was ridiculous. They batted first, we bowled them out last ball for 226. Me being expensive going for 49 off my 8 for one wicket, so difficult to control the ball and sliding on the artificial.

We got off to a good start putting on 79 for the first wicket, and finishing after 21 overs before I told our captain it would be dangerous to resume. I enjoyed batting needing 71 to go top of the run-scoring leader-board for our club that was my incentive.

Today was rained off once again. Not sure of the scores when we finished but I got 3.1-1-13-1 and took a catch.

Had a top day today, played for Millichamp and Hall against a Cricket Writers XI down in Wiltshire. Turned up and it was a really really nice ground! We batted first, I came in at 4 when we had about 40 on the board and added about 130 odd with some guy from up Yorkshire who got 70, I got out for 65 with about 15 over to go. We ended on 229.

Had a decent tea, then the oppo raced to 120-0 in what seemed like no time. I was thrown the ball and somehow managed to take the next 5 wickets to fall and they finished on 200-7!

There were a lot of photos of the game so I shall upload them when they come online, and also won myself a pair of Distinction gloves for man of the match!
