same my 2.9 was a jem

LOL....ANY 2'9 picks up well ;)

I've picked one up and it confirmed my suspicions that it would theoretically have an awful pickup as it's all 'edge'. I wouldn;t be surprised if there's a few good uns though.

Why would "all edge" make for an awful pick up? I thought that generally pick up was only affected by weight distribution along the length of the blade rather than the width?
I've picked up a few at different weights and all have felt pretty good

A counter balance may shift the techie middle of bat and change its hitting feel, but if the middle is fairly long anyway it wont be too much trouble.  As the counter balance is removable it is worth trying it as an option if it does work for you no harm done!

On any given bat, it's been my experience that thin edged ones pick up better. They're more of an axe than paddle!

At the end for the day pickup is about weight distribution throughout the blade but pickup is only a small part of you swing.

Maybe Dan is an opener and attempts to see off the quicks and get few runs also

Thanks for the reply. Doubt PDC will do anything now, I've put on some shoo goo (tip I've learnt from the forum and for what its worth in my opinion it's the best toe guard). The pick up is blinding it just feels a touch too heavy. Probably have to hit the gym.
