This is a very interesting topic indeed as I think in these economic times more people (outside of forums) are going to eBay and the like looking for a slightly used bat on a budget

Generally I state that I've bought too many bats and that they aren't going to get used, so get yourself a bargain.

'I've got too many bats' - Why aren't you selling one of your others then? This must be the worst of them!

'It doesn't suit my game' - This bat is awful, I can't find the middle!

'The pickup is too heavy' - Bought it cheap, trying to make some money on it!

'It's too light' - It doesn't have any kind of middle on it that I have found!

This is the reasoning I use when buying a second hand bat. If you're selling it then you don't want it, if you don't want it then why should I want it? More importantly why should I pay your asking price?

No used bat is worth more than £150.....I have heard nothing here that makes me think different yet!

Dunno, see both sides - I mean, I've sold on some very decent sticks.  For example, a Kookaburra Kahuna RP that was literally brand new - reason for selling?  Well, I broke the original one through the toe and Kook kindly send me the one I sld on as a replacement.  It was lovely willow, but teh weight was maybe 2oz lighter than the broken one, which was already on my lighter end...

...that said, I see it as like a car.  If the bat has ball marks, 40% has to exit the price immediately!

No Tim, That's why you're having to put your bats on eBay to get a decent price..... ;)

Which is the point I am trying to make. If the buyers were less cynical and the sellers were more realistic we wouldn't have a situation where people are selling their bats away from the forum in order to obtain the price 'they think is right' which is daft as in most cases you get less because of fees anyway......still you can at least tell everyone it sold for £20 more than you were offered on here and your valuation was correct...!
