forget willow, I would make the bat out of a similar product to a hockey stick

Would that work? as cross laminated sheets of Kevlar, Carbon Fibre and Glass Fibre will give a stiffness and strength but what about spring? Having had a few chats about making a bat like this with Malik was told it simply wouldn't work and they make some of the best sticks in the world.

4inch width, Original C6 handle which was not used in production, laminated face, fully dried out willow, anti scuff face.

This is based on the presumption that by allowing banned materials you are looking at a bat to perform to the maximum.

Scoop = weight redistribution
Carbon inserts = stiffer toe and shoulder.
Rubber ?
Steel ?
Lamination = maximise performance.

Carbon Handle
Laminated face
Ultra light density blade
Thin layer of rubber between the lamination and the blade

If that combo didn't go like the clappers, I dunno what would!

The rubber will not help, it will defeat the object of a stiff face, it would act as a shock absorber....

Carbon fibre sheet instead of rubber? 2/3 ply thick to give stiffness behind veneer

How about a double lam (triple?). 3 pieces of wood, a regular lam with the join down the edge and then a performance laminate on the face?

How about balsa wood between the laminate and the blade? :)

I would guess at Carbon Fibre adding stiffness to it but it has to be able to flex.

What about cork between the laminate and the blade? :)

Surely remove the face, add the cork, and then but the face back on, sort of a laminate plus have a c6 handle ;)
