Played against a Talisman and a lad with head to toe Woodstock gear...Talisman guy sadly got a first baller and Woodstock lad didn't last much longer (Good win for us!!)

The chap with the Talisman happened to have a new SS Jumbo in his bag as well.....really, really nice but as he said, not worth £275......he got his from eBay I think for a lot, lot less. Good guy he was, I think he's a lurker on here somewhere????  :D

Just to add, as usual saw a lot of Chase gear....very popular in the Hants leagues..

Saw a shark this weekend, used by an absolute helmet, a talentless cricketer who had to resort to bullying our 14-16 year old players to have a good game.

Shame really as the bat looked lovely!

Here's one for the older members on here....played against a guy using a Special Counties!!  He said he'd had it for 15 seasons, hand made in Dewsbury by Clough Ward, batmaker was a guy who used to make bats for Slazenger before they stopped making bats in the UK.  Has anyone else ever seen a Special Counties?  It was a classic profile, 2lb 13 ish according to the batter, still pinged quite nicely.

One of the openers I played against last weekend had a DF retro, went pretty well - but quite an Indian shape...

Got to watch one of our bats score a few runs today with the oppo, lad who owns it then passed it onto his captain when he got out...needless to say I told him it was a plank and wouldn't be of much use lol
