Using different weight bats????
« on: May 23, 2012, 07:09:57 PM »

I currently own two bats, a SAF weighing in at 2.9 and a warsop venom weighing in at 2.12. Both bat are fantastic in there own way and have super ping.

I try to split my batting evenly between both bats but have found that when using the heavier warsop my batting goes out the window, apart form my under performing guns, do you guys think it is only the weight causing the problem or could it be a combination of weight and profile?

Does anybody else use different weight bats with no problems?

Dead weight is one factor, balance another, sometimes you can find differing combinations match up, other times the same weight and balance can feel totally different if the bats come from 2 companies.

agree - I mean, I have bats that range from 2lb 11 to 3lb 4 and that vary between long handles and long blades and can use all of them with pretty much the same (low) skill level.  Tends to be a horses for courses selection for me...

Thanks for the info chaps, I dont think I will be able to use the warsop so might have to see if anybody out there has a 2.9ish bat they would swap for a 2.12 and see if that sorts out the issue as it seems a waist to have such a nice stick just sat around doing nothing. :(

My Experience has been that moving to a lighter bat has improved my batting principally due to getting to the ball quicker. This is a move from>2.12 to <2.10.

the other side of that though is that you might have been used to getting there at the old speed and have co**ed up your timing as a result...

Which is why I have been practising in the nets. 2.7 and below is admittedly too low and results in me rushing everything...

I could not offer a bat to swap as I only have a H4L 666 weighing 2.14 but I would be interested in buying the warsop off you for a reasonable price.....

The fact that the middles will be slightly different as well as balance being off affects your strokeplay
