I'm not involved in the situation at all but that 330* makes my blood boil. What an utter w*nker.

That 330* is embarrassing, why would someone who's played at a higher level such as him do that and keep going? doesnt deserve the recognition if you ask me

Spot on...and I really hope he stumbles across this forum and the comments on that link. The blokes obviously a complete tool...it's not too hard to imagine what he's like away from cricket either! Middle management, low achiever, likes bullying people. Scumbag pure and simple.

I feel sorry for the other guys in the team that didn't get to bat. - TFTU's all round.

This wasn't a bad little knock in our midweek league last year

Again though, playing at way below his level!

Yep - obviously someone with talent but why play at that level if you've played at County level and 1st XI is minimum your level! I guess he has issues and wants to big himself up!
In my view he doesn't care about the game and how his actions will affect the opposing team and how they view the game!! Playing in the right spirit of the glorious game? Not that idiot obviously!!

I'm pretty sure someone pulled out from the 2nd XI on the morning of the game and being the coach, he was around anyway.  And its not like he's dropped to Local Division 7 to play, Southern League Bronze isn't exactly a piss-take league.  Danny Briggs has regularly played silver over the last few years and he played for England this year.

I very much agree with players dropping down to lower level not giving them a chance but personally if I was a young player and I saw that performance, I would be impressed and would certainly be motivated to work harder on my game.  And how are we to know if the other scorecards posted were of players dropping down?

I have no ties to either him or the club, I'm just saying I find it surprising it got such a universally negative response.

330 is ridiculous though, fairplay him dropping down to help the side out ad field 11 players, but there is no need for him to continue that far past 100. like someone previously said in this post, they helped out their seconds and found it easy, so retired at drinks on 75 or so to give others a chance
why hasnt this bloke done something similar?

I agree that when he got to certain score (100 probably), should have just given it away.

I thought someone might bring this one up, I opened the bowling in this game as we were without 3 of our main bowlers and was shocking. He's a first class player in south Africa and batted really well, nice bloke too but really shouldn't have been playing in a midweek works league at this level.

Who do you play for Kieron?

He didn't have to give it away!
He could have (and should have) retired his innings and kept his dignity! That would prove he's a bigger man than if he bullies a lower standard team to destruction, which is what he did.
It's fine that he wanted batting practice, but 100 retired would have surely given him enough.

Its a tough one, isn't it - I mean, on the one hand there is an argument that a game is your best XI versus the other sides best XI and if one of yours happens to be a bit good then what the hell.  On the other...

I guess I see both sides of this one - I played for a very week work side for years and made regular hundreds.  It was in no way fulfilling but I got a half day off in the sunshine and a beer with some guys I got on well with, so I played.  But I rarely batted higher than five or six (I'm superglued to the top four anywhere else) and would like to think that I knew when to call it a day.  And when asked my high score, none of that is ever mentioned!

Hi GBD19, I was actually playing for Davy Mckee's last year for a bit.

I moved to MWCC this year and now play for them midweek as well.

Vinit looks to be playing for our 3rd team, although i've seen his name etc i've never actually played a game with him.

Always heard he was a good bloke but yeah, think he was a bit below his level this time!
