here is a good one!!!

full scorecard isnt on yet tho!

http://pontefractdcl.play-cricket.com/website/results/2307063

brookwalton are a new club and have just formed a second team this season.... the league decided to put them in Div8! they could easy compete in div3 i think.

Liam/pidge/prowannabe/robpackcricket on here smashed 242* lol

Not Brook Walton or Liams fault but why do leagues put new teams right at the bottom when clearly they are capable of playing a division or two higher? What I gathered on facebook is he was dropped from the 1st XI as he was struggling for runs but didn't the league ever think that would happen to somebody?  Liam in Div 8 is asking for trouble, knowing the nice lad he is I bet he was a little bit embarrassed about it! Still great to have a league double hundred to your name.

like i said to liam other night 200 is 200 we have all played games against terrible teams. how many sunday games did i play againts  shocking oppo and not score 200 takes some doing.

but the league have really made mistakes. as even if you put liam aside being  dropped there second team is very strong.

There are a lot of players in there second team that played div1 over the last 2 seasons.

Totally ridiculous! They have had a number of teams concede against them, would you want to turn up and play against superior opponents?

They have players who have played in a bottom league who could easily play in the top division.

Sounds like they are embarrassing the league for not putting them in high enough. In my opinion they should have gone in 5, they would probably have won that but had a few more games. I heard that they made their opinion known at meetings and that the case was not helped by the first team going against word in attracting players from same league. Personally what should this matter, surely its about participation and enjoyment more than anyone's moral standing.

We played them in a cup game on Sunday, we lost by 6 wickets (But with only 17 balls remaining) it was acknowledged that we had given them a game.

I'd imagine it's mainly the bowlers who complain about Oppo's playing below themselves. As a batsman I enjoy playing decent bowling, even if I don't get many runs. Far more rewarding than biffing some 15 year old leggy around.

Our division is a complete mismatch of teams it was designed for single teams but what has happen is that strong teams from top divisions have dropped there 2Nd's and thirds and come into the division which is padded out with 3rd teams you can more or less  predict before the season starts who will finish where.

Not the highest scores, but an interesting run chase - scoring 106 out of 118 of 12.5 overs

Sadly(on my behalf) I looked at his stats.

Played for the same side for a while.

Last ton came in 2011 for them off which he scored 3 that year.
Not really had a lean spell but wasn't phenomenal at that level either(averaging between 20 and 30 over 20 odd games each year)

Then bam!! Have some 350! He came off well.

Not like he's a pro playing well below his level. Well played dude.

if you go on that club's twitter account there is a photo of the dude that got 356 no. He's a big lad to be fair and .....brilliantly photographed with his bat with black electrical tape on it. Absolute quality.

Well batted son.
