M&H double decekr bag looks good, although no pocket for bats

Not necessarily, in fact it's the perfect multi bat bag (and is improved with a stiffer base) with a very easy modification! http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=13476.msg288693#msg288693

Newbery SPS looks huge too, nice double decker. Not too sure about bat compartments though.

I have the SPS, is a big bag fits all my gear in, but struggle fitting in the helment due to its shape and finding room for it
Another problem is the double decker thing, find it awkward to access when in a small crowded changing room
After a new and more accessible bag, innitially wanted a Aero but read bad reviews on them, so may opt for an Ayrtek, or just stick with a duffle bag and a sports bag for whites n clothing

Gray Nicolls Viper wins hand down, not too big yet you can fit loads in it, with 2 bat compartments too.
Shame GN discontinued it.

Thank you very much to everyone who responded, I appreciate your help and time!

CD, have you considered the Albion medium wheelie? I was considering that if I could make the same modifications to it that I made to my M&H double decker (i.e firm up the base), plus it has a rigid pull handle so it'll be easier to cart around?

A mate has that and I don't like it whatsoever, the quality is appalling!

I've a Salix pod pro and I've spent time commuting with it. My observations are that whilst not being enormous, it's a cricket bag and therefore will take up space. What I like about it is that it isn't super huge and I get pads, helmet, two bats, gloves, strippers, two pairs of boots, shower kit and playing kit in it with no problems. I think it also looks very professional and feels high quality material wise, although I recently bust the zip on the boot tunnel.

I also have a duffle which I've tended to use for nets. I've found I can get all my kit in it, but need to carry my bat separately if I do that as the bat pocket on the side doesn't always open up properly. The duffle I have is a Slazenger V-series because it was cheap.

Salix sounds like the one which fits my specifications, it doesn't sounds to be a big bag.

The M&H Medium is;

82cm long x 33cm high x 33cm wide

While Salix is;

86cm long x 36cm high x 33cm wide

While M&H Large Canvas is;

102cm long x 40cm wide

M&H Double Decker is;

L 100cm x W 48cm

Newbery SPS is;

900 x 400 x 400

Lastly GM Original LE Duplex is;

96cm x 38cm x 42cm

So there is trifling difference, between Salix and M&H Medium Canvas I have.

The Salix has a huge full length pocket down the side of the bag. The bat cave is kinda like the GM one but is not in a separate block below the bag, kind of like a full length padded pocket down the bottom with access from the outside.

Great bag though

Agree with you very thick and high quality materials but the zip on the boot bit has broken on mine as well :(

GN say there is nowhere you can get hold of a Viper bag :(
They say the dimensions were: 99 x 40 x 33cm ; and to think it only costed £45-50 back in the day.

I would buy the Salix Pod One, bigger than the Pod Pro but also not massive, don't know of its worth the £75 though

Cheers Joe, I appreciate it.

So the bats are protected in bat cave right? They don't get scratched or anything if they are together, do they?

Is it heavy (when nothing is innit)?

Hmm true but I use 82 cm so 90 cm looks very big :(

I went through a stage where I was obsessed with GN Bags.

I have a mate who is sponsored by Salix and has no problems with the bag whatsoever. It does look small when compared to my Aero Tour but it is really compact and you can fit just as much in it despite it being slightly smaller.
