England have won the toss and will bowl, confirmation that Swann has been left out and Steven Finn plays. First time since Headingley in 2003 (against South Africa) that England have not played a specialist spinner. That's a big call.

1 Andrew Strauss, 2 Alastair Cook, 3 Jonathan Trott, 4 Kevin Pietersen, 5 Ian Bell, 6 James Taylor, 7 Matt Prior, 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 James Anderson, Steven Finn.

Personally I think not playing a spinner is a shoddy idea, having said that, the Saffers looked very adept at playing Swann and who knows how cronic his injury is.

last few days have been wet up here Buzz. Last night the mother of all thunderstorms broke and I really wouldn't be surprised if the track will do a bit first up. Forecast isn't great for the next few days and the seamers might have the upper hand throughout. I might be wrong but Headingley isn't one of Swann's better venue, or spinners in general. I think it's a horses for courses selection and wouldn't read too much into it.

Should be 2 down by now! Don't see why that was called a dead ball, unless Finn was warned about it beforehand then whit give it dead ball? Finn had done it 3 times before that and none of them called dead ball until he gets him out! If only Swann was in the slips >:(

We have had our fair share of rubbish aussie umpires.. I remember Daryl Hair being the worst... seems the umpire got the call spot on....
