Todays TEA
« on: July 22, 2012, 10:55:38 PM »

Ever since I joined the forum I have been itching to post a thread on the "Cricket Teas" section.  Today we played Witney Swifts 2nds at home in one of the OCA cup semi finals.   Normally everyone brings something towards the TEA and we have a rota on who brings what.  But as we have just started Ramadan, and as I am the only non- Muslim, I decided I would make the tea.

So here is what I dished up for them
Chicken Biryani (my Indian wife's recipe)
Homemade Veg Samosa
Mexican Street Salad
Cheese and Onion Sandwiches
Cheese and Cucumber Sandwiches
Ham and Lettuce Sandwiches
Doritos
Crisps (Chilli & Lemon)
Homemade Chocolate Cake
Homemade Ginger Cake
Watermelon
Honey Dew Melon
Pineapple
Chocolate Tea Cake
and other odds and ends

Sadly I didn't take any photographs but I was playing at Valley End CC this weekend and even the bread for the sandwiches was homemade....now that is someone who takes pride in their teas! Definitely one of the finest we've ever had! There was this chocolate cake contraption, sort of a brownie, sort of a cake which absolutely wiped out our opening attack...it was a tea to remember...!

tried to bat after some superb teas in yorkshire, im sure the ladies in those villages have competitions and try to out do each other with their contributions.

always a pleasure to go and thank the tea ladies for a proper cricket tea.

we dont get teas in our league!

We had a cracking tea at Sleaford last Sunday! Had a really nice one at Moulton Harrox as well yesterday. Owmby do good teas, as do Cleethorpes!

Our teas are rubbish... the guy that does them can't even be called a cook, let alone a chef!
Locally though banstead and beddington have the best teas
