Can some of the more experienced players or even umpires explain this one to me

Had a great one today got abandoned but not before I was adjudged lbw maybe you can help me understand why

I'm standing a foot out my crease on a fast bouncy track

Ball is short ish so go back to pull with my front leg in air and ball hits me on outside of front thigh pad while leg in air (im 6ft4) with keeper going down leg

Then told its plum??

Was the umpire a league umpire or a guy from your team?

A league qualified umpire but there nominated umpire as each team is supposed to supply a league qualified umpire

Sounds like you've been done over there. Unless you're sweeping you should never be out hit on the thigh pad

I'm just trying to understand what was going on in his mind but I did hit 12 off precious over as 4th time this has happened to me this season that I've been done and starting to get a little annoying as there not even 50/50

Other was when I came 3 paces down track to a spinner hit on knee roll no one appeals bowler groans to which umpire raises finger!!!!!!!!!!??

There's your answer buddy! You got a shocker, from a 'homer' umpire. Plenty of them about in club cricket (As I'm sure you know!) You see it week in and week out.....best thing to do is accept it, realise you did nothing wrong and then move onto the next game...don't dwell on it though...it's gone!

Just have a proper strop about it on here to make yourself feel better!

At least you didn't have to spend the entire day playing against a team of pikeys who think that proper full on sledging is the way to go in a Sunday friendly! Barely a single one of them was over the age of 18......bodes well for the future doesn't it? The 'children' just don't get it do they?

Sounds like it was an unfair decision! I hate it when umpires from the opposition do this. Yesterday I hit this guy plum on his back foot taking middle and leg, and the umpire claimed after 5 seconds of thought that I was in the way, so he couldn't see it. Clearly was trying to find an excuse, and I only got in front of him while I appealed... He also gave wides from balls 6 inches from off stump, which caused an argument. This umpire wasn't playing in the game and was supplied by their team, even though umpires should be team members...

Must be a weekend for dodgy decisions, we had a game against a team that moaned to the umpires a lot from the sidelines when they batted. Constantly appealing for wides when we bowled (and even we think putting them down in the book when they weren't given), refused to walk after the umpire decisions and generally gave a lot of stick to us throughout the game. I bowled (badly as usual this year) and at one point the ump gave a no ball against me. When walking back to my mark I asked how far over the crease I was only to be informed that it was for height when I pointed out that the batsman hit my ball for 4 with a cover drive from shin height I didn't get a reply.

Nowhere near as crucial a decision as your but annoying all the same, especially as I got taken off a bit after that.

probably in order to get the bowler to change his natural length....

Bowling was not that quick so I quicken it up by standing further out of crease plus nullifies swing to an extent

Yeah don't mind a 50/50 call but not that obvious

i always bat the bat width out side of the crease ........ if it isnt working i move forward or back. The bowler can somtimes lose his rythm
