Blimey Dave, you are pro KP aren't you. To be fair to Strauss, he has not been drawn on the KP issue despite being goaded by the press vultures lol.

It's a shame Strauss' last shot was a very poor leave.

But a good player who captained a great team.

A great captain that captained a great team, and right up there with the greats of English cricket. 21 centuries is no poor return!

In fairness, that probably made up his mind.

Trott would be a step in the wrong direction...dont see Trott being around for long either...good time to get a youngster in..

Don't think there is a player old/experienced enough.

Joe Root I think needs to be nurtured into the role, not thrust head first into the deep end.

But do you pick KP when you know how much of a divisive influence he is on the dressing room. There's being disliked but respected (when people can deal with you), and there's being universally hated because your goals are so different to the teams. Would much rather have a team player who is going to buy into the team ethos, than a premadonna that just uses England cricket as a springboard to more money. Great player, yes... idiot, yes... team better without him, probably not... team better off without him, yes... dressing room a happier place that can move on, definitely!

Well done to Strauss for making a brave call. Always liked him as a player and captain, has that sense of clam and authority about him. Regardless of who comes and who takes over the leadership I am sure Strauss will be missed by the English team... I am sure KP saga didn't help either...

To say that he quit when trouble arrived for the team is unfair, please don't hate me but English team was close to crap when he took over, he along with Flower built this team, off-course using the foundation laid by previous captains and coaches.
