Is kp hated that much we all do not know the full facts

Correct Dave, we don't all know the facts, but it could just as easy be the side of him being an ass which is right, not your version of events where everyone hates him because he's better than them.

Extremely sad day, he was not only a top player and a captain but a real gentelmen. He was one of most if not most finest blokes in cricket.

I'm sad to see him go, wish him all the best. I have nothing but respect for him. Can't think of anyone else being a better person than him in cricket.

You'll be missed!

I completely agree, I caught a bit of the press conference and he came across very well, particularly when dodging the kp questions. I certainly have a lot more time for the likes of Strauss than the majority of footballers.

Cook did well too and hopefully can carry on the good work that Strauss and flower have started.

Hey Dave you better rephrase that comment " As KP is the best South African batsman playing for England"

I have lots of respect for Strauss, he is just amazing! I'm out of words for him really!

Cook is very good as well but Strauss was in different league altogether.

Likes of KP etc are clown compared to Strauss really.

His education background is law right?

What was everyone's favourite Strauss innings?

He obviously announced himself pretty early in his test career but this one has to be my favourite. Strauss at his classy best and only a year ago.

easy that one

177 against NZ when he was going to be dropped after a poor run, showed the guts the man has
and perhaps we(england) would never of had the partnership of strauss and flower to take us to number 1 if he had been dropped

we will never know of course

Brave call from a brave cricketer. It is so refreshing for someone to know when to retire at the right time and give the younger guys an opportunity. Well done and maximum respect!

My favourite Strauss innings has to be his ton v the Aussies at Old Trafford in 2005, basically becasue I was there for the entire innings. He copped a blow to the helmet from Brett Lee early doors and had to have a bandage on under his helmet for the rest of the innings.
After that initial blow, his hooking and pulling was sensational!

His counter attacking inning with Cook at the Gabba 2010.  Set up the whole series that did.
