It's pretty much rigged in IPL/Aus teams favour. English counties would have to merge into a similar number of teams, either 2 or even 3 counties as one, to start on the same playing field. They would then have to be allowed 4 overseas players and be given an automatic entry into the main competition. Despite all this, nothing from last years competition says IPL teams are better as a group than English teams. With it being in SA, I'd be surprised if the winner is an IPL team.

Be interesting to see how many of the players from the Windies are involved as i imagine someone has Pollard/Gayle etc in their team?

Narine, Bravo, Pollard are all playing for IPL franchises rather than T&T.

To be fair, if the counties were at all bothered by not winning it, I'm sure they would adjust the goalposts slightly!

can anyone shed any light on a question
why is there no IPL teams in the qualifying stages? as t20 champions in england surely Hampshire shouldnt have to qualify. id have thought all the champions of each country would qualify by winning their countries comp, and all runners up are placed in the qualifying pools?
watching last years highlights there was 3 IPL teams in the main comp. how has that happened? its clear they have an advantage anyway due to the overseas player rules we have.
for instance today Yorkshire only have Miller (SA) playing
UVA Next have Oram, Gul, Chanderpaul and another i cant remember who
and most IPL teams will have 4 overseas players i presume.
it definately plays into IPL teams favour, after all they are more of a franchise than a county side, like our english teams
