I get an idea in my head that I want to buy something really expensive and cricket related, pester Jake @ Vitas and then decide not to buy it... I guess I like money too much.

At least when I pester Jake about gear I end up buying something, in fact I think I had 2 sets of kit off him last season... :-[

Okay then - the kit I plan to use for the 2017 season 2016/17 winter nets (subject to change...)

Bats:
Hunts County Aura LPZ 700 - £210
Hunts County Aura LPZ 650 - £165
Hunts County Reflex - £80 (eBay price plus a refurb by Hunt's)

Gloves
Hunts County Aura - £45
Hunts County Triumph - £30 (bought from the forum, having been used once)

Pads:
Hunts County Aura - £50
Padded cover for straps - £8 (possibly, from memory)

Helmet
Masuri Elite titanium - £170
Masuri Stem guard - £50

Bag
Hunts county Aura - £50

Shoes
Asics Gel Advance 4
Asics Gel 335
I can't remember what I paid for either pair, but an equivalent model from this seasons range would be around £80

Protection
Aero box - £12
Aero batting shorts - £12
Aero P2 strippers - £35

Other
Bat covers - £15
Oakley sunglasses - £130
Whites - £50
Socks - £30

So, if my kit got stolen on match day, the rough cost to get replacements would be:
£1,222 - yikes... :-[

Yes , I feel a bit ashamed sometimes .... we need to start a section on here for our troubles .....'cricketers anonymous' or some such . 'Hi , I'm Shayne , and I have a cricket gear problem' . Applause , followed by 'thanks for sharing Shayne , we too feel your pain' .  :D

I wonder what everyone's cheapest match day kit bag would be... So along the same lines of this topic but just the cheapest piece of equipment for each 'category'.

I think this would be one for the kit tramps/cheeky bastards like myself...

I'll have a go at this with my indoor cricket kit...
This probably won't be the cheapest kit going, but I think I've done okay on the "value for money" front :-[
I won't include whites etc. in this  as I already have them from the proper season, and most things I take on a normal match day stays at home for indoor games

Slazenger Made in England V5 (bought used on the forum) - £35
Hunts county Glory gloves & pads (eBay, used) - £35
Shrey Masterclass Air Titanium helmet (bought new on the forum) - £100
GN1000 duffle (bought new on the forum) - £25
GM Box (eBay, definitely not used!) - £3
White Asics Patriot trainers (eBay, new) - £17

Total £215

Pads - morrant international ultralite  $240
 Shoes - adidas boost sl22 $200
Thigh guard combo - remfry inner /outer $245
 Chest guard (yeah , i know , i know...leave me alone ) - remfry $115
 Arm guard - remfry $85
 Compression - long skins $80
 Box - aero $10
 Helmet - adidas adizero  $220
Bag - aero standup tour wheelie $200
 Whites - pants , club shirt o.d.i , club shirt 2day , warm up shirt /shorts , club jumper , club hat and cap , thorlo socks - $170
Other - knee brace , strapping tape , arm compression sleeves , prescription sports glasses - $450

Plus - lighter bat / ca big bang trd $490 , spare /wet weather asics spikes $190 ,  2× spare bas players gloves $160 , plus some other miscellaneous crap .....

Funny thing is that i can replacate this kind of kit 3 or 4 times over - so i need to play until I'm at least 50 just to semi justify it .
Why am I so simultaneously happy and depressed all of a sudden?

Bloody hell , add another $240au , just bought a second pair of morrants . I better make a lot of runs this season .... ;)
