Paceman has speed up to 100mph, if I'm not mistaken.

Paceman has speed up to 100mph, if I'm not mistaken.

Offers quality, accurate, reliable bowling simulation for the backyard & Beyond

Features

Variable bowling speeds up to 100kph
Fully adjustable for full pitch & short pitch deliveries
Includes automatic 12 ball feeder
East to assemble, put away & store
Able to produce inswing & outswing deliveries
Uses exclusively Paceman light balls for safety & performance

These are the stats from the website.  100kph so about 60mph.  350aud seems overpriced for a 60mph.  When a unit with identical stats can be bought in the states from Amazon for ~150-200.

Ah I see, pardon me as I got bemused with units.

Do you know which one from Amazon would work in same way but with a feeder as well?

Cheers for this, it indeed looks exactly like the one I posted in OP, a lot cheaper and better for me as I'm in Canada.

Would it be possible to use simple balls instead of baseball balls?

Many thanks again

I think they can use the special dimpled balls that are pretty generic to all bowling machines.  At least I've seen one video with someone using that.  I've heard there are two kinds of them, one is super light and the other is slightly lower in weight than a baseball.  I never seen one in person so can't attest to the feel of it when playing with a bat.  If the unit is designed for lighter balls then I doubt you can use a heavier cricket ball.  The additional weight will be a burden for the small motor and the ejection speed will also be compromised.  This is just my speculation of course.  I figure this will be good for off season practice, and for that purpose the dimple balls would be adequate.  On a side note, they also sell a netting system for about 150-200.  So a complete net session for about 400, not too bad.

Once again many thanks for your prompt and insightful response, I appreciate it :)

I live in Canada so this US Amazon one is more fruitful option that Australia $350, plus its a lot cheaper.

My backyard is pretty big and easily enough room for full 22 yards pitch, have garage and a long driveway and I was planning on placing it on driveway. Woulc it be possible for you to share net link as well? Because that interest me and I think it will be useful.

The only issue I can think of with baseball balls is of bounce as the, light dimple balls should be fine in my opinion, they would be safer in my opinion.

Once again many thanks for all your help, I appreciate it

The paceman is designed for children, you will be very disapointed if you are expecting a proper bowling machine.

Apologies for digging up an old thread but did anyone take the plunge with the Paceman unit in the end? Or has anyone used/seen one in action?

One of the junior coaches at our club has asked about the prospect of getting one and I was hoping someone might be able to give some first hand feedback?

Thanks in advance

We will have one in stock soon so will let you know my thoughts.

I believe sellers have to all sell at an agreed price, so buying locally to you and collecting it will save on postage, as I doubt we will be able to offer free shipping on this item.
