Pretty sure b3 would replace this if it's that damaged after 12 knocks?

Not as clear cut as it seems as the bat is over 3 years old and was sold on.

Sorry it is not a crown either.

It has been sold on as show on this forum and unfortunately was used more than 12 times as shown in the sales thread.

Also i was shown this a month ago and none of the damage on the face was shown.

Hate to be the boo squad but i think that is fair 3 year old bat which has been used quite a tad more looking at the toe.

I will ask the question but i would not replace and i doubt B3 will either.

I have seen B3 from that era break in the shoulder but since our handleman came onboard we have not had many returns from the handle i must stress.

I know damage can happen but the face damage has been caused recently as it was not sold like that by Uzair.

This breakage happened after I sold it and neither damages were there.

Yes, it is over three years old. When I bought it, 3 Stripes was highest grade (Crown was inducted later).

Shoulder cracks were shared on 19th of February of 2016 so hardly a month. Face damaged resulted after that.

Again I am sharing what I was told by the new buyer, posted those here to share with you all and possibly increase my knowledge in knowing why this happened as it was used against Kookaburra Regulations/Turf.

Did you ever oil the bat mate looks like original scuff on the sale picture??? Bats do get brittler over time a B3 tends not to mark up first season i find but after that i need to either oil or slightly knock it in again as i find the seem marks after a year of use.

However it is strange to see damage like that on the face after a couple of months of use mate after you sold it.

Have sent you a message

Some delamination and a shoulder split. I reckon this can be repaired. Dave fixed the delamination on his bat in his own kitchen. The handle split does not look too bad, so I am sure B3 could repair and refurb this and you could get a sticker up grade at the same time. Due to the age of the bat this would more than likely be at your own cost, but a better option than chucking on the fire.

You are correct mate we have been using a new glue and done a few trials and have the forumla now to effectively do shoulder splits and the delamination would be a easy repair.

Hello Cricketers,
Allow me to introduce myself, I am the new owner of the bat in question hence figured that I will explain the situation first hand as I appreciate B3 product and hence still in the process of getting it fixed and exploring options.

By background, I have mostly used Newbery (Kudos & Kudos 2 & custom), custom Pakistani willows, SS Ton Matrix, GM Player Ed (Watson) and I like light pickup yet with the meat to hit which is what this bat offered however the unfortunate turn of events brought on a couple of major damages. I should also share that because I really like the bat, I still haven't lost hope and trying to get it repaired by skilled folks.

Now I can understand the shoulder damage as that is purely incidental however I have only seen ONCE case of delamination to a high quality willow and hence it is surprising to see the extent of damage (8 inch long on the upper right middle of the bat) to a bat that is 3 years old but sparingly used.
I have also taken the opportunity to peruse the forums and it appears that B3 has been aiming to improve both in pressing and handles so if some older products (like the bat in question) pre-date their improvements then I as a customer expect them to review/respond with greater understanding to such products.

Above said, whether a vendor chooses to replace/repair or not is secondary but what remains important is the customer service aspect and a genuine standing behind the product with an attitude to understand first and then respond accordingly.

I have already reached out through CoverDrive (through email) and have also directly emailed (through email) and have not received a response; I still believe that B3 offers great quality products but I am interested in seeing how they respond from a customer service perspective before I choose to recommend or buy from B3 again.

Thanks,
Khan

No company would replace a 3 year old bat let alone one that's been sold on, it's pretty rich to even ask to be honest.

I would call them up prior to posting here. Its only fair to the manufacturer. Also, whether its sparingly used or not, 3 years is a long time (3 times the standard warranty!!) and in my view, they would be doing you a HUUGE favor by offering anything at all. I can understand just going over the warranty period, but THREE times that, is a bit unfair in my view.

Why though, you didn't purchase the bat off them, what responsibility do they have in any of this?

3 years are a long time.

The amount of use is questionable as the current claim is less than the already posted claim from its for sale topic.
Plus an acknowledge meant it was used again after the broken handle.

But

If it was sparingly used over. 3 years then the question of storage has to come into place, cold damp conditions will have a poor effect on the willows condition and ability to take hits(hence people oil before and after winter and some times re knock in)

If it's been left for 3 years, picked up moisture, not been oiled and general left to fend for itself on a poor environment. Instant re sue could well lead to damage.

You can expect a manufacturer to then replace. Hence 3 years being far too long to expect anything to come of it. Especially Witt such a natural product.

It's like buying a 20 year old Vauxhall cavalier at an auction then expecting Vauxhall to sort he rust out on it.
