Cash:Runs Ratio
« on: December 27, 2012, 10:55:00 AM »

This just came up elsewhere, reckon its worth a topic on its own.

How to do it - work out how many runs you scored in 2012 and work out how much you spent on equipment for the 2012 season.  Simples...

So I reckon I scored 1052 for the club, 639 for the CS and 128 in two ad hoc appearances for other sides.  1819 in total.

And I spent (discounting the three bats that did not see matches in 2012 because they were picked up with 2013 in mind) 1220.

So 1819:1220 or, as near as damn it, 1.5:1

:eek

bat £150, gloves and pads, £120, bag £20 total: close enough to £300.

total runs, in 10 games... about 300...

ratio 1:1.

does this mean I need to spend more on kit to get more runs next year?

Nope, I don't think there is any correlation at all - just interested to see how bad some of our kit addictions may be!

When I add all the 50 over, 45 over, 40 over, 20 over stuff together for 2012 (and indoor) I had a poultry 2052 runs in 67 innings with 25 not outs so ended with an overall average of  48.85.

However. I managed to spend just shy of £1600 quid on kit in 2012 so that's a ratio of 1.28:£1.. ouch!

upside is I'm not buying everything new this year so I'll only spend around £1000 this year and my runs should hopefully rise as I'm training harder and have improved again. Quick question.. for 2013 do I have to add the cost up of buying my bowling machine, feeder and balls?????? IF so, I think I might struggle to recoup that many runs!
