The only thing that Lyon has going for him is that the Aussies have chopped and changed their spinners so often that they probably need consistency - and none of the others are great, though I bet Hauritz is sitting at home wondering what he did wrong.

I thought Hauritz had a fall out with the management.

Wasn't he reported to have sold all if his Australia jerseys in a yard sale saying he wouldn't be needing them again

Just done some research....apparently no he didn't sell it all off in a garage sale, that was a fabricated news report! 'twas a shame though coz he is a better all round player than lyon.

Watson is only one brain away from being a great player.

NZ are pants - Taylor aside. I bet Vettori won't play meaningful cricket to a good enough standard again (he's been Moët more than a roller for yrs, though passable as the whole of NZ's middle order). Their board is worse than PCB and they're coached by Mr Toad.

And yet they won a Test in Oz. Cricket huh?

Guptill? Williamson? Boult/Southee? Nott sure I agree with that assessment, I assume you mean Taylor and McCullum? But Williamson is class, that ton against SA was stuff dreams are made of. And Boult + Southee are a opening combo to rival the Aussie young quicks of the future, and if Bracewell can sort his act out and they can nail down a half decent spinner + seam bowling all-rounder (Todd Astle and Sam Wells? Heard good things about both...) then their bowling would be sorted.

Guptil is a enigma he one minute looks world class the next looks like one of us on a saturday playing beat ball.

I'am sure he has the talent as shown in one day cricket but he needs to sort it.

Some of his gear did end up on eBay. I bid on a couple of his old NSW playing shirts only a few months back.
